I was surprised by how good this chain is. I eat here quite a bit and have found the different locations to be consistent. My favourites are the wild mushroom polenta, the lobster risotto and the lamb. I highly recommend Strada. Sometimes they even give us a free limoncello to finish things off. Can’t complain. Mmm, getting hungry just thinking about it. FYI — The IL Padrino house white is actually very good and goes great with lobster risotto or the scallop risotto.

Strada Highgate was my first experience of the chain, and a very good one! They bring complimentary water to the table which is great and the prices aren’t too bad! With the current 2 for 1 vouchers it’s almost nothing! The pesto pizza bread for starter is fantastic — I would have that every time!

For an Italian chain, it isn’t too bad. The location of this Strada, set up in leafy North London, is very relaxing and has a real residential feel to it. We started off with some hand stretched pizza bread of Aglio(garlic and rosemary) and Pesto and tomato, dipping it into lots of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I am a huge fan of speck so I ordered their Rigatoni Speck with Gorgonzola, which came in a heavy cream sauce. It was good to see that aside from the usual pasta and pizza dishes they also serve such dishes as fillet of pork with sage and prosciutto, pan fried calves liver and whole seabass stuffed with thyme(very good). They also have a rather long list of wines to choose from.
