The new menu sounded tasty so i was really looking forward to tryin it. I was impressed with the airy feel to the wimbledon branch, it looks small from the outside but its like a tardis. We started with the Castelvetrano olives which are large juicy and lovely green colour, much better than the olives i am used to. We had this with a platter of antipasto and schiacciateLLa agLio FLat Bread — all highly recommended together as a starter. We then had stroZZaPreti PugLiese a fabulous dish of handmade pasta with sausage and red chillies(my favourite dish). The risotto Zucca was very tasty pancetta, butternut squash & pumkin rice dish. We then had the 4 season pizza which was thin and crispy, and a topping for everyone. The saLtimBocca maiaLe was a homely pork wrapped in parma ham dish served with mash green beans and gravy. The show stopper was the fish dish orata aL Forno — A whole sea bream, pan roasted with lemon & thyme, served with a green salad and roasted new potatoes. The puddings are lovely a home made pistachio ice cream(my favourite) a aFFogato — a nougat semi freddo served with a shot of espresso to pour over it, it worked rather well together and finally a Bunet Piemontese(similar to a panecotte). Personally i will def be going back to try the fish stew which is perfect for these cold months but i will definetly be trying some of these dishes again.

I love Strada and when I moved from Kingston to Morden, my husband and I decided to try the branch at Wimbledon. I should point out here that we have been three times now — once for takeaway — and I was disappointed every time. The food is still good, but unfortunately the restaurant is always too crowded and the service is terrible. You have to wait a long time for each course to come because it looks like they have about 3 waiting staff for all the tables. We couldn’t even get another drink while we waited — it was like we were invisible. Also, I’m convinced that like everything else in Wimbledon this branch of the restaurant is more expensive than others, which I think is awful. Just because some of the local residents are rich(not me) doesn’t mean they should put up the prices. If you’re an independent restaurant then go for your life but chains should be consistent wherever they are located.

My review goes to Strada in Kingston as I haven’t been able to find it in here. I used to go there twice a week with my wife and always enjoyed. Since February this place became the worse restaurant in Kingston. I’ve tried twice but had 2 horrible experiences. Rude staff, unprofessional and untrained managers and worse, very tasteless and boring food. Not sure what has happened but sure won’t see me again. With places like Carluccios, Zizzi & Jamies across the road from this, who will want to go there?

If you are visiting wimbledon tennis this is the place to be. Its in a quaint place of town. The food is tasty and the alcohol is good also. Friendly staff good atmosphere.
