Would you expect anything less from the Spa at Mandarin Oriental?! I had high expectations and they were undoubtedly met and exceeded. I believe a half day at the spa has benefits far beyond a little relaxation. For weeks I thought — «I just need to make it to that Friday afternoon at Mandarin Oriental.» It was motivation. A parking spot for all my stress, a light at the end of the tunnel. So, if you are thinking of splurging a bit and booking in for a little self-treatment, I highly suggest this space to do so. First — getting here is easy. It is literally steps from the Knightsbridge tube station. I was out of the underground and into the spa within moments. If you enter through the hotel reception, the doormen will guide you to the spa(down the stairs on the left, down the hall). Secondly — from the moment you enter, you are cared for. The staff is friendly, and have clearly been trained to a very high standard. Every detail from a hot washcloth and tea while filling out papers to efficiently packing away shoes and equipping one with slippers is perfection. I arrived about 45 minutes early to enjoy some of the facilities and was shown quickly to a locker, vitality pool and sauna before entering the relaxation room to wait for my appointment. It was so relaxing I took a nap! There were cookies, water, fruit, magazines, headphones. If you are coming for a treatment make space for some extra«waiting» time as it’s really nice to just relax for a bit before the actual treatments. I opted for the youth and beauty package — which was a body scrub, massage and facia.(sidenote: Here for a facial? Do the oxygen upgrade. Bliss). All treatments were done by the same woman(Chanel, AMAZING) in the same room which allowed for total peace. I left feeling SO relaxed I could barely sit up during dinner. My skin felt plump and refreshed, I fell asleep during my massage(see, TRULY relaxed) and that body scrub had me feeling very smooth. No complaints or room for improvement, whatsoever. Totally 5 stars from start to finish. *gratuity may be added to credit cards.

Was ok but overpriced in my view compared to much better places been to. What was good is the quality of the environment which is very nice.

Absolutely loved my first visit this morning! Staff is very easy to talk to. Upon entry I immediately felt the warm and comforting atmospherethe studio is very well decorated and I enjoyed the music. As for the service, I found the staff very gentle and skilled. They are very knowledgeable and I was able to relax quite quickly. Not to mention the incredibly affordable service cost! I’ll definitely be coming back again!

This spa is great as all your treatments are tailored to your needs. A trained therapists will help you to choose treatments depending on what you want to do. Whether it is just to relax with a facial or to de-stress yourself, this place has something for you. The prices are pretty high but its worth it as the moment you step in there you feel relaxed instantly. Its quietness and tranquility is great and with the tailored treatments you feel pampered. You can also get there a bit earlier to use the pool and steam room and some other facilities available. Enjoy every moment of your time in there — its truly worth it.

The Mandarin Oriental’s award winning spa is experience not be missed. From the moment you step into the spa with its soundprooofed rooms;orchids with your slippers to the heated massage table-you are pampered and spoilt by the highly trained therapists. Its not so much the treatments that you book for, but the time spent because the highly trained therapists assist you in choosing your treatment depending on your skin type, stress levels and pain threshold– there is no pre-chosen treatment. My latest visit there for the«time» spent cost 230 pounds and started off with a foot massage, plus a full body scrub, a brush and a firm(requested) hot stone massage. The best part is that as the prices are so high the public areas are not overcrowded or noisy. Also if at all possible try and arrive 45 minutes early so that you can make the most of the vitality pool, sanarium, and the Amethyst steam room and the beautiful relaxation area.

An absolutely amazing spa nestling in the basement of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I’ve been several times & its worth a visit if you’re looking to unwind, relax or detox. Serene & tranquil, the spa has that contemporary Eastern theme, with dark woods, salte floors, low lighting & good use of flaura & fauna. The treatments include elements from Chinese, Ayurvedic, European, Balinese and Thai cultures. There is a minimum booking time of 2 hours so you’ll have to splash out, but if you’re looking to pamper yourself or a loved one its a great experience. Guests are asked to arrive at The Spa at least 45 minutes prior to their treatment to fully immerse themselves in the Heat & Water facilities(here’s a solarium, crystal steam room & hydrotherapy pool to relax in before hand). Be warned, though this is not an «all-day spa» and has limited public areas, so don’t expect to hang out for the day here. I have to say this is one of my favourite spas & well worth a visit. If you’re looking for gifts, they do gift vouchers as well as E’SPA Products.
