After an initial bit of confusion as to which area we’d booked for a party(definitely not just a table for 20 plus people, thanks) this turned out to be a great party venue. You can book a slightly raised area which was brilliant for a party — still able to enjoy the atmosphere of the pub and yet giving you plenty of space. Unassuming from the outside, there’s a nice outside space and a spacious interior that makes good use of it’s old warehouse setting with two raised areas. There’s a good selection of beers and wines, and the staff were lovely considering we were probably a bit rowdy as the day wore on. Overall, a great place to visit.

I was here at the weekend for our joint birthday celebrations *tear* I am no longer in my 20’s, despite it looking like a warehouse from the outside and the area has an industrial feel to it the space inside is awesome. I had booked an area a couple of months ago, with help from the lovely Freya who answered all my queries. When we got here on Saturday we asked about the booking and were originally shown to a single table, since we had a good 35 people coming throughout the day I was a little confused and explained we had booked an area, the girl who we spoke to looked equally confused, but swiftly corrected herself and we shown to the ‘lounge’ area. The lounge area is big there were oddly no reserved signs but we figured we would be fine being as we intended to camp out all day, the area is quite dark with lots of comfy mismatched furniture and some big tables, pretty much perfect for a birthday celebration despite the lack of natural light. We hadn’t food or drink for the tables but I mostly drank wine, tequila and vodka and cannot complain, they have a good wine menu, excellent selection of beers. Others in our party ordered food the pizzas and burgers looked amazing, I definitely want to try some of the food, I did try some nachos they weren’t anything special but after a few wines and vodkas they were much needed. As it was our birthday’s someone had brought a cake and the staff were happy to accommodate that providing everything we would need. Just to say a big shout out to the staff they were really friendly and fun, I even gave one of the bar staff some cake, and I apologised for the all the crumbs we dropped lol, the staff were truly lovely, they were happy to deal with our *slightly* loud drunken crowd with a smile. Great place definitely worth a visit.

The Pub quiz on a Thursday is the best one I’ve been to. Fun, friendly, not too competitive and an upbeat pace!

I love Shillibeers! They’ve got an amazing selection of cocktails and craft beers. Everything you need for a slightly blurry evening. The staff are really attentive and fun. This is a short review because. Well, I don’t remember much of the evening… But that’s the point!

Stopped in for a quick drink here before heading to the theatre next door. It’s a great, spacious bar with a good ale selection and a tempting food menu. Next time I’ll be sure to give myself a tough time before the play to try it out! c*

I visited this pub by chance last night when I attended a play at Pleasance Theatre and I found it very cool. It is in the middle of nowhere, I would have never found it if it wasn’t for the theatre! The place is quite big, with different seating levels and looking comfy, all wood walls and sofas scattered all over the place. It was almost empty when we arrived, so I didn’t have any problems to find a table. The staff was friendly and helpful. I only ordered some coffees and cakes to share but I saw them bringing food to the tables and it looked really good. So now that I know where it is I’ll probably go back to try their food. Seems cool for a Sunday roast or a quite evening!

I cannot think of any reason why anyone over the age of 18 would want to go to Shilli Beers. I remember going here when I was younger and I seem to remember that fighting was a regular thing. Yes the drinks were cheap and there was always a familiar face but after a while even this wasn’t enough to keep on going. Once I discovered the delights of Shoreditch, Notting Hill and the West End clubs– Shilli Beers became a distant memory. A few weeks ago I happened to find myself nearby and suggested to a friend that we go there for old time’s sake. Well, it has improved(there was no fighting) but it still lacked any type of atmosphere. I can’t see myself returning– I think I’ve grown out of the place.

This bar is in the middle of nowhere and has a load of kids hang out here(probably under age kids who come from the estate across the road because there’s nothing else to do around here). Because it’s housed in an old factory the bar always feels empty and more like a local community club rather than a warm and welcoming drinking spot. That being said, they have a good range of beers and wines and a Monday to Friday happy hour where you can get a glass of wine for £2. We had hamburgers which were cooked exactly how we like them(medium rare) and they do good group menus, so it is a good place to go to if you want a cheap party.
