We came on one of their Super Tuesday nights where you get 50% off everything, including drinks(not champagne). We arrived 10 minutes late but they still waited for us. The reason I highlight this is that the table fits roughly 12 people and the main show of cooking on the teppanyaki grill can only be done for everyone on the table at the same time. The table does feel quite cramped and the tables behind or next to are very close and throughout the night you do get bumped into regularly by other customers or staff clearly plates etc. The staff were very friendly and attentive and our chef was extremely funny and made sure he put on a good show for us. They tend to do lots of tricks with eggs etc. I’m not sure if it happens often but it seemed that there was a few mistakes on our night and some people got covered in egg, was funny at the time but I could see it upsetting some people. So, the food. Everything was cooked just right and packed a decent amount of flavour. The teppanyaki sets are reasonable but I may be reluctant to pay full price for one. The meat is cooked to your preference and the starters are probably better than the teppanyaki grills. The reason I say this is they cook the egg fried rice first and then cook your meat. By the time the meat is cooked the rice is near enough cold. And after they cook the meat they do a side of veg and again you’ve probably eaten the rice and meat before veg is done. Overall a good experience, good for groups, especially if you can get a whole table. Decent food and attentive service. However slightly overpriced if you didn’t go when the offer was on. Just be sure you’re in a good mood and don’t take things too seriously as you may get some egg over you ;-)(Visit — 24/03/2015 Dinner)

Pretty good teppanyaki place in Camden. Food is fresh, service is good, and drinks are delicious. Good portions for the price and you can’t beat 50% off Tuesdays!

This was my first teppanyaki experience which I did really enjoy. The chef was really good and kept us entertained. The food tasted good wasn’t the best I ever had but good. I agree with another review the waiter was quite pushy with the more expensive option telling us the food wouldn’t be enough but it was fine. I think it was over priced for what it was but would go again on a Tuesday when it is 50% off which they did promote. I had a good experience but wasn’t my favourite night out

Sen Nin feels like the place you go to for Japanese if you don’t know any better. There are two main reasons why me and my friends were quite disappointed when visiting last night. First of all, the waiter tried pushing us in ordering more expensive dishes than we really needed. I understand if a waiter wants to advise you on certain items, but this guy just pushed beyond acceptable levels. It was extremely annoying, unprofessional and just plain embarrassing for the role of a respected waiter. Secondly, the cheap entertainment that comes along when going to Sen Nin. We thought we were going to be treated by a professional cook who makes the food in front of you while staying a bit in the background. Instead, they put on a poor show of throwing eggs in the air(while most of the time failing and breaking them), omelet in your mouth(we did not participate) or just putting you on the spot in front of a group of strangers. Sen Nin is not run by a single Japanese person and it shows. Because any respectable Japanese restaurant owner or cook would put emphasis on the quality of the food instead of luring in drunk birthday party crowds and trying to make as much money from them as possible.

Sen Nin was a general let down. Average food, most of which is overpriced coupled with poor service makes for a forgetful experience. Sen Nin lacks authenticity and much of the cooking lacked inspiration. Our Teppanyaki dishes were both nice enough but the prawns came with an odd, almost creamy sauce which masked any tasty prawn flavours and the plum sauce with the duck couldn’t have tasted more shop-bought. The rice cooked on the grill was nice but nothing special and the vegetables only landed on our plates once we’d finished. Pointless.

Not only was the food AMAZING, it was by far the most fun I have ever had in a restaurant. I have been to numerous teppanyaki restaurants in my life and this was definitely the best. They even let my husband go behind the table and try to flip and egg into a hat on his head. Our chef was such a delight and kept a smile on our face. I ordered the chicken and my husband Got steak. Both were famously cooked and seasoned. I will definitely be going back!

Great food, but really slow service. Waited and waited while starved. But yea, if we’re talking about the taste then it’s excellent.

If you’re looking for authentic Teppanyaki food, this isn’t it, but great place for a fun night out with a large group — and everyone’s meal arrives at the same time. We went on a Tuesday night, when the food is half price(which made the cost about right). Friendly, welcoming staff. Good choice of dishes and everything well cooked, but having just experienced the real thing on a business trip to the Far East, I’ll just have to carry on searching.

No recent reviews for this place which is a surprise. I live locally and often it’s busy mid week as they are part of some voucher deal groups. I have been to Sen Nin once and did not have a discount voucher and the food is ok value you can make it expensive if you go for Kobe beef. Portions size OK. Staff were friendly and enjoyed the chefs trick. Food tasted delicious and the menu is huge. Cool experience to sit at hot plates but I recommend this for groups of 3 or more.

Fun place although it felt slightly mass produced(even though everything is made fresh in front of you). And if you are fewer than a party of 8, be prepared to share a grill table if that is where you want to sit. Even for large groups the seating arrangement is slightly odd in that you sit far away from others around the edges of the grill table. The food is tasty, the service is friendly, and you will finish with a warm and full tummy. No complaints but not somewhere I would regularly or for a meal where you want the atmosphere for an intimate conversation

Yummy japanese restaurant worth trying, especially if you have the tastecard! I had the chicken katsu curry bento box for lunch here yesterday and it was great. A bento box split into foursies with good sized portions: rice, the chicken katsu curry, Japanese salad, and stir-fried noodles, along with a small scoop of pickled radishes in the center. And it comes with a miso soup as well. Definitely a filling lunch, normally priced at £9, but with the tastecard only £4.50! The service is good, my glass was never low on water and the food arrived promptly. A few notes about using the tastecard at this place: you DO need to call to book in advance, but honestly more of a formality, this place isn’t really packed with customers. And there’s some fine print about ordering off the a la carte menu. basically my friend and I each ordered a bento box, but apparently needed to also order at least one appetizer to get the 50% off tastecard deal? I just chucked in an order of salmon nigiri and it was fine. Love that I work 5 minutes from here, I’ll be back :)

What a gem ! We had such a fantastic experience at Sen Nin. We had the ”summer sizzler” set menu and would highly recommend this to everyone. It perfectly encapsulates all the wonderful flavours of Japanese food: From fantastic sushi to crispy spring rolls to various cuts of fresh meats and fish, traditionally cooked right in front of you by an interactive Japanese chef ! What an experience! The restaurant itself is small an intimate and the staff were super-attentive, fast and friendly. An extensive and reasonably priced cocktail menu was also on offer. All round, a special and unusual dining experience — would be a great idea for a special occasion like a birthday or group dinner. Highly recommended !
