Good south Indian food! I highly recommend the south Indian thali if you go here. Do not get the north Indian thali, the roti puts a frown on your face. It is worth going to if you are craving south Indian. Service is quick but some people just have bad attitude, which is I did not give a 4-star.

Good Indian food, with a specialization in South Indian fare. All vegetarian and some nice Indo-Chinese dishes. Judging by the number of desis(Indians) eating here it’s pretty authentic. Service is hit or miss, but they try.

This is a chain as even in the US there are a ton of these restaurants. But, being a southie, I love this place so I enjoyed a nice lunch with family and friends one afternoon. The street its on reminded me of Devon Ave in Chicago, full of indian shops and services. Food was good, standard SB food, but they had quite the selection of desserts which was impressive. Not sure if I missed this part of the menu in the US or if its specific to London, but that was nice to see.

Went here after reading good reviews on Unilocal, but was very disappointed. The food was horrendous and have had much better at other places on Ealing Road. As well as the disappointment in food, the service wasn’t much better at all. The staff were very rude and not helpful at all. Will definitely not be coming back here at all.

Good, but not perfect. The staff are much friendlier than in the southall branch. The masala dosa are rolled, as opposed to folded, which is better, but the potato filling didn’t have much flavour and the prices are higher.

Excellent quality vegetarian meals. Great value, really good prices for the food. We have visited two of their locations in London and they both served us equally great dishes.

You really can’t go wrong eating here. A chain that actually does quality authentic food for a reasonable price, that understands how to cook north, south and Indo-Chinese food. My party group is usually myself(Irish), some Gujus, Mallu, and Punjabis– so everything ends up being ordered and it’s all tasty! Mango lassi is good(unsure if it’s with fresh mango during season, but good year round) and the masala chai is yum. My go to is a Masala Dosa(coconut and Mint chutneys are fresh and tasty) which comes with good sambhar. Add some Chili paneer which has a great kick of fresh ginger, or Gobi 65(dry spiced cauliflower sprigs). And treat yourself to a mango lassi. I go regularly. :)

Saravanaa Bhavan is a chain restaurant — but one that will make you forget all of your prejudices against chain restaurants. It is a Gujarti Vegetarian Indian restaurant but with other Indian vegetarian cuisines represented as well including Sri Lankan and Indian-Chinese. (If you have never had it — Indian Chinese totally rocks. It is not Indian, It is not Chinese, It is a bunch of fiercely original fusion dishes that put traditional Indian vegetarian ingredients into Szechuan or Cantonese style sauces.) The place is crowded — often with a line waiting out the door. The menu is huge. Everything our party had was outstanding. (Special thumbs up for the Paneer –Indian Cheese– with Chilis in the Indo-Chinese menu — and their Chapatis and Pooris(breads) which show up accompanying many dishes. In fact breads are generally a strong point here and they make many kinds.) The place is unbelievably cheap — which is good to know in London — where cheap and food too often means poisonous. One note for non-Londoners. This particular Saravanaa Bhavan is on Ealing Road near the tube station Wembley Central. That neighborhood is one of three neighborhoods — all on Ealing Road — that have vast numbers of excellent cheap Indian and Pakistani restaurants(including many many subtypes of both). The cluster at the North near the Wembley Central station is the largest with at least a dozen fine vegetarian restaurants to pick from. This part of town is not on the standard«visitor’s» trip to London — but it ought to be.

The place is heaving, but food is oily and very rich(rich in bad way– food terminology) we visited this place first time last saturday and wasted £45 for 3 people. 2 shared starters only half eaten. and main was tasted but not fully finished as it was very very salty and also very oily and the chef must think that spicy food means lots or raw red n green chillies some one teach him the art of fresh combination of Indian spices please., mango lassi by the jug was overpriced and cost 30% of our bill. shocking. also some monkey guy and his mum wanted to fight with us over a table. no manners. Overall a very bad food experiance and also a very bad eating out experience, and the staff think they are attentative, actually they are pushy by chasing you for your ordes. no dicipline as they all randomly approched our tables for orders. you would think each waiter had his tables to look after. waste of money; which i thought was not worht my hard earned cash, i dont want any thing for free, but i want to get what they charge and this time it was day light robbery, and its going on all time I dont belive its a one off. try it yourself, or take my advise and save your money. Parking across the road is not council land its very expensive 24 hours a day. not letoff for off peak or after 6pm concession etc. Wembley is discouraging visitors and shoppers.

Went there with a friend and we had two different thalis. The food was great, especially the south indian thali; the service was pretty friendly and quite prompt. Great vegetarian food! (The south indian thali was actually pretty much the same as in the UAE where we had originally discovered this chain). The décor and setup of the place are nice and modern; nicer than some of the other restaurants that we passed on the way to the restaurant from the station. The prices seem pretty reasonable/cheap for London too. A really nice meal all up; well worth the trip up to Wembley.

They have a special Jain Menu however the food is usually with Onions and when we ask them to change it, their reply is this is a south indian restaurant and you wont get jain cuisine. The Staff is very rude and does not offer friendly advices. This place is recently opened on 23rd March 2012. Earlier there used to be Tulsi Vegetarian Restaurant here. They still have some of the Tulsi staff along with some Tooting branch staff working toghether. Saravanna bhavan is popular for its vegetarian south Indian cuisine however unfortunately the food and the service is overhyped. I’ve been to numerous other South Indian restaurants and I would prefer Chennai Dosa which is just opposite the place.
