Salutation

The outside of this pub looks so promising and quirky, but we visited on a Saturday evening around 8pm and the inside was pretty generic, with no atmosphere or character. Our bartender fancied himself as a bit of a comedian, but he was fun and got a few chuckles out of us so good on him for trying haha! Between us we had a pint and a half of cider, and it came to a reasonable-​ish £6.70, and it was nice to sit at a table in the corner and be able to hear each other (the place wasn’t overly busy at all), but I’m not convinced I’ll be visiting again… A bit underwhelming.

Great atmosphere for watching the Rugby with friends on a chilly night. Good service and decent food.

Came in for a quick pint and a snack after work on the way to visit a friend. I couldn’t quite work out the vibe as it was still very early on in evening and not too busy. You walk into a traditional looking bar area and if you work your way towards the back it seems to evolve into a restaurant in a conservatory. Beyond this is then a huge garden half covered which I could see getting very busy and popular in the summer months. They had a nice selection of real ales and all the bar snacks all sounded nice, traditional pub grub. I went for their scotch egg which was actually duck but was still great. Egg slightly runny but it came with an amazing red onion chutney. Wish I had ordered a second bar snack it was that nice. It also looks like they put on a few events in the week and the first time I’ve seen a FIFA night advertised, not sure how that would work or what sort of crowds it would bring but overall a nice pub. A proper pub. Without pretention. And with a Spiderman pinball machine!
Me, the boy and the missus go here for a quick pint and a bit of pinball wizardry every now and again and the place has real down to earth charm.
The surrounding area is full of poncy gastro pubs. Some excellent. Some just poncy.
But every now and again what you want is a good old pub that serves beer first, food second.
A pub that has a couple of TVs to watch the football in (the place always draws a few people in when there’s a game on.
A pub with normal chairs and normal people sitting on them who just want a pint, a natter and a bag of crisps.
Having said that, the food that I’ve seen served here looku can get a pint of is pretty good. It’s just that it’s not the main reason to come here.
The Salutation is half way up king st so is always popular but never uncomfortable. The garden out the back is nice and big. You can get a nice pint of Honeydew here. The outside is nicely decorated with beautiful original coloured purple tiles.
It’s a good old fullers pub. not many of those left to the dozen. Enjoy it while it’s still here.
And I just scored 65 million and got a replay on the pinball. GET IN!

Such a fabulous pub. I love going to the Salutation, especially when it’s sunny and warm as the beer garden is AMAZING. Seriously one of the best in London.
They usually offer some sort of hot cheese. It used to be a whole baked camembert, but lately they’ve changed to a cheese fondue with crudités as a starter. DIVINE!
Excellent burgers, great sandwiches and sausages. Friendly staff who give good service with a smile. A really lovely Hammersmith pub.

A rather lovely Fullers pub. Tons of natural light. Has the best back garden I’ve seen in London by far. Pretty standard selection of Fullers beers, although I did find one less common offering (Front Row). A very nice option for this area.

Nice pub, looks old on the outside but friendly and modern on the inside.
Good range of drinks and didn’t eat but lots we’re and it looked great!

RUBBISH. This used to be a good place but that was over a year ago when old staff was there. Now it’s just embarrassing. 90% of the customers are from Town Hall which is opposite. Toilets are dirty, prices are high and staff is equally useless & rude.

It just gets better! Halloween night last night, great atmosphere; staff really made the effort and dressed up.

What a hidden gem. This High Street pub has a fantastic beer garden, really it’s like an outdoor lounge with heaters by every table.

Great pub, very deceptive from its exterior, was expecting a frosty reception as a stranger to what is obviously predominantly a local, however that was not the case. It has a good choice of ales, an almost modern and airy interior whilst still reflecting that of a ‘real drinkers pub’ and a brilliant sun trap garden with enough heaters to extend summer evenings hours after sundown. Food is a little pricy, but you are getting a fine example of pub food for the money! the lesson learnt from this place is Don’t judge a book by its cover

Wonderfull pub with a most unusual fascia, purple tiles that date back to day when people knew how to build a pub with style and flair.
Busy local with a good lunch menu and the trade to match, they have a fab garden which when in flower is very very pretty, friendly staff makes a pub like this stand out even more.
Tv for the footie etc and lots of comfie sofa’s to chill out on.

Das Salutation sieht von außen vielleicht ein wenig komisch aus, aber der Eindruck täuscht. Man sitzt ganz nett, es gibt ein Glasdach und eine Art Wintergarten. Und wenn das Wetter schön ist, kann man hinter dem Haus im Biergarten sitzen. Das Essen ist auch in Ordnung und nicht so teuer. Was mich ein wenig störte, ist das Publikum. Manchmal ist das Klientel ein wenig merkwürdig.
Es gibt eine Stufe vor der Tür und keine Behindertentoilette.
