Enjoyed lunch on a Saturday here. Was quiet when we arrived but the room quickly filled up with other diners. They also seem to do a fair share of take away orders. I ordered the minced lamb skewers and rice. Extremely large portions, I was barely able to finish it all. Service was polite and quick. *tip for the brave– their hot sauce has a great kick, was definitely not expected.

As a Persian I have to say the food is amazing here. I came here with some friends from abroad and they also loved the food. The mirzaghasemi and kashk were amazing. The kabab was also very good. We had the soltani. Also highly recommend to try the fesenjun. Staff was super friendly and great service.

If you like good food, come to Sadaf. The whole staff are Iranian and they can recommend something authentic if you’re unsure what to go for. The food is fresh, tasty & inexpensive. They also serve original Iranian ice cream!

Genuine and delicious Persian food. Returning every 2nd week/month, as the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and professional. Try their kebab Soltani or ghorme sabzi with some freshly baked naan.

Large portions. Quite good. Lamb skewers were succulent(though I don’t fancy lamb as such, still quite good)

Ordered zereshk pulao and kubideh, not the best taste for authentic Persian food, could do better, could do much better, there are so many other places in London you know

Persian is one of my favorite meals, and this is our favorite persian in London and we go several times a month. Much better than Alounak, and it’s a pleasant and relaxing but busy space(I’d recommend making a reservation). Really good kubideh and joojeh kabobs and ghormeh sabzi, and absolutely the best kashk bademjan I’ve had anywhere here or LA or DC. They serve wine(try Ksara Reserve du Couvent) and beer and it’s casual to dressy casual.

There are plenty of Persian restaurants on both Westbourne Grove and Queensway so if you are confused, this place is a good choice. I’ve been to Alounak which is closeby and always has a queue, but I think Sadaf is much better and you don’t have to queue. Sadaf also carries Cobra beer — Alounak doesn’t sell alcohol. There is a clay oven where you can watch naan bread being made. It is quite an amazing process — after kneading the dough the baker will toss the dough into the oven where it sticks to the ceiling of the oven! Main courses are so large that my husband and I normally order an appetizer, naan and share a main. I typically order the Spicy Koobideh with rice — this is the 2 huge skewers of seasoned minced lamb, grilled tomato and rice. Depending on who is cooking, their dishes are a bit too salty for my liking so next time I go I will tell them less salt.

So Sadaf is my second experience with Iranian food so going in I felt like I had something to compare to. That being said, it’s really good. First off, it’s BYOB, so don’t be afraid to bring a bottle in. No corkage is always a plus so you can have a bottle(or two) of wine and not feel incredibly guilty. For starters we had three dips: hummus, something chickeny and something eggplanty(aubergine to you Brits). We also had some bread to go with. All three were incredibly tasty. The hummus here was really top notch(although apparently hummus isn’t really Iranian). For our main, we ordered the lamb skewer combo(one lamb fillet and one minced lamb) with rice and the spicy minced lamb skewers with bread(I’m just not a fan of rice). Unfortunately, they brought mine with rice, but they did go get me another bread to go with it, so that was a win. For me, the minced lamb skewers always seem to have more flavor than the regular lamb, and it was the same here as well. They serve everything with a pile of onions, and I think I was the only one at the table to eat all of them. Overall it was pretty tasty, so I’m ready to come back with my Iranian friend so she can give it a try as well.

The Sadaf is a Persian Restaurant on Westbourne Grove. We went there a few times now and the food is superb. Especially the Lamb Kebab is wonderful. For about GBP10, — it is a really good price for what you get and one of our favorites in Bayswater. The service could improve a little but generally it is ok.

Don’t be fooled by the usual emptiness of this restaurant. The food is very good and is reasonably priced. Main courses are big and are better cooked compared with the starters. They have a lamb shank special on Fridays(and I think on Sundays) try it, it is fantastic.

Came here by accident, as a tourist, and didn’t regret it. The prices seemed reasonable to me, for London standards. The food was delicious(I had minced lamb meat on bread(7.7), and a can of Persian tea(3.85)).(Prices are with 10% service feed included). The service was a bit slow bringing me the menu and taking my orders, I needed to give them signs each time, thus –1 star. Admittedly, it was quite crowded that evening(mostly non-tourists, apparently), so maybe they are quicker otherwise.

I come here quite a lot, since it first opened a few years ago. The quality of the food is excellent. The service isn’t bad at all, and it’s a nice quiet place to get some decent food in the busy Bayswater area. You’ll get a seat immediately here, at almost any time, pay a reasonable price and leave extremely satisfied.
