Great atmosphere, they serve delicious kebab with Halloumi. First class Customer service. Very good drinks caipirinha, mojito margarita. I have been here several times and will definitely be back.

Ruby is a surprise, mostly because I should have known it was there, I’ve walked by it about a million times, and yet, when I walked in there for the first time today, it was absolutely the first time I’ve been in. And I have been missing out.
It’s a small spot and it is easy to miss, despite being right on Hoxton Square. But if you’re looking for a comfortable place for a coffee or to work or for a really quality bite to eat, this is the spot.
It’s café food, but really well done — beautiful salads and pastas and seafood. Get what’s on special. The rest of my table did and it was excellent. I got the steak ciabatta and it was nice but kind of, eh. It came just bread and thin streak with salad on the side that I could build in myself. Nothing special. The specials though were special indeed.
It’s a friendly atmosphere, good food, well lit and very comfortable. Now that I know it is there, I will be back.

I’m kind of angry.
How in the WORLD did I just make it to precious Ruby?! After living near Hoxton Square for over 2 years, you’d think I’d have darkened their beautiful doors by now. But no, today was the first time — and on a whim! A total whim.
In need of a solo casual lunch where I could take a phone call — I opted for a seat on Ruby’ s patio. I expected the usual fare of soups/​salads/​cakes/​tea/​coffee — but instead feasted on gorgeous LAMBCHOPS with potatoes and spinach for £11.50. Yes. So much love.
Casual, friendly, comfortable without one bit of bullshit Shoreditch attitude. Color me impressed and I’ll be back on the regular. Just regret it took me so long to pay attention to you, dear Ruby.

Breakfast? Well, why not!!!
My newest love, no. 8 decided not to open until noon. Totally their prerogative, but it did leave me hungrrrrrrrry and with a tienie-​tiny– slight hangover, no way I was going to queue for the Breakfast Club. Na-​aaah!
No reviews on Unilocal yet — say what?! No worries Ruby, I’ll test you. And you’re nice, it was a pleasure meeting you! In particular the «hangover» sandwich you serve with scrambled egg, chorizo, rocket — nomnomnom! Breakfast /​lunch /​brunch, whatever you need; Ruby is a nice girl when you’re in this neighbourhood!
