Whatever you do, don’t come here alone. Waited for ten minutes just to get a menu, should have taken the hint from that and left. The food was so-so, and the service is horrible.

Our meal started off okay. The food was good, and we received a couple of courses over a period of 45 minutes. We then sat there for over an hour without receiving any of our meals. In the end we had to leave to catch the last train, still having not been fed. By the end of the evening, I had eaten 2 small ribs and a crispy duck pancake. It cost our party of four £46 for the privilege. We were also snapped at by a member of staff, possibly the manager, when we asked where our food was after almost an hour. Steer well clear.

The service here is attentive, the food delicious, and the restaurant is comfortable. I had a sizzling lamb and onion dish that was very pleasing. I’ll be back when next in London.

In a street full of dim sum options, it can be a challenge to know which restaurant to visit. The answer is: Royal Dragon. It really is that easy when wanting to enjoy dim sum.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon because the Dim Sum restaurant next door was packed and required a 45 min wait. Really glad we tried this place. We had some standard Dim Sum dishes as well as some specials that I’ve not tried before. Most dishes are as I would expect from a good Dim Sum with the following notable exceptions. Their Beef Cheung Fun was great since it had a small amount of water chestnuts for a slight crunch and coriander for flavor as well as a thin wrapper. Their Woo Gwok fried dumplings, although small, were pipping hot and crispy. Loved the Vietnamese spring rolls(made with rice paper wrapper) and served with sweet vinegar dip. The rice with salted fish and shredded pork had a good amount of sauce to ensure the rice was well coated. Their dragon dumplings were also great, with thin skin and a good amount of broth in side … make sure you eat them while they are hot! Also had their mixed meat crispy fried noodle, which had the right balance of crispy and soft noodles together with a nice amount of meat and perfectly cooked sugar snap peas. On the special side, we tried their oyster and prawn dumpling. As for service, definitely could not complain. In fact, I can’t understand the complaints about service. Maybe it was because it was around 4 pm and the place was becoming quieter. We found the waiters to be very attentive and replenished our Chinese tea regularly. Would definitely come back to this place as my first choice in future.

We had a nice dinner here. Crispy Duck was good. Followed by great BBQ ribs, Cha Siu and Chicken and Cashew Nuts. Portions weren’t big and it’s not cheap but quality was good and we all enjoyed it — even our youngest who isn’t always willing to try new stuff. Best Chinese BBQ ribs he has had.

This place is not good at all and a tourist trap. We ordered a course meal for 5, which included the crispy duck(make sure you are not confused with Peking duck!). The overall meal was very bland, the duck was decent but a let down because it is not the traditional serving style. The dishes were just not tasty and were more geared toward foreigner taste, not traditional Chinese. I would steer away from here as there are many more decent choices in Chinatown such as the Tokyo dining house and the dumpling place nearby. The price is also quite steep. You do get quite a large portion, but large portion of bad food is usually not welcomed.

We chose this place only as it topped the Unilocal ratings for Chinatown. Surely some mistake? If my local chips and sausage takeaway had served up food of this quality, I’d still be surprised, but this was incredibly disappointing. Despite a lot of staff roaming, attention was hard to find. Then the food came: — gloopy Hot and Sour soup, tasted reheated — mixed starters, very meh — fish fillet in hot sauce(£12 or £13) — tasted like crispy sweet and sour — hard to believe there was a fish fillet in there unless it was a sprat — black cod — underdone fish fingers, with a spray of sweet hoi sin sauce The other mains were appalling — some mustardy prawn and mango thing that looked dysenteric, dry ‘steamed’ rice. The restaurant was busy-ish — Sunday pre-theatre, but this was one of the worst Chinese meals I have had in a very long time. Avoid.

Three course meal with fried such Right in the heart of China Town in London, this restaurant did not disappoint. We found this establishment thanks to the fine folks of Unilocal, and we decided to try it out. We were eager to try many things so we opted for one of the pre-set menu items that includes a 5 course meal. They brought out an array of appetizers including wontons, dumplings, and others. Our main course consisted of Sweet and Sour pork and Stir Fried chicken. Both were great, however, our intermediary course is where it was at for me. Crispy friend duck. They served it nice and crunchy with wraps and celery strips to top off with deliciously prepped plum sauce. You can add any other toppings to your duck style fajita at your leisure, and I must say, this was the highlight of my meal. Give the duck a try, its probably one of the best I have ever had and was not gamy at all.

I went to the royal dragon based on the amazing Unilocal reviews. Well, if you want to pay a lot of money for a little of bit of food, this is the place for you! There was nothing particularly wrong with anything any of us got – in fact, it was all quite good – it was just that there was just not a lot of it. Plus side, you will definitely not leave feeling that full feeling you often feel post-Chinese food indulgence; however, you will not be left with any leftovers… which are arguably the best part

Definitely nothing special. As far as London food goes, the chicken, while certainly better than Noodle Bar, is nothing short of a hair better than Panda Express. The food is presented in a decent fashion, but the quality of the food and time taken to prepare it is obviously lacking. Some dishes have too much sauce, or are padded with too many vegetables. The servers themselves do not know the menu, and struggled with me to understand exactly what I ordered. Service: Lacking, could be more spot on. Food: Left much to be desired in taste, quality, and freshness. Price: Definitely not worth it, and they can hardly work to justify the«12.5% Discretionary Gratuity». I would go somewhere else. Me and my friend agreed that even Wagamama’s was better than this.

One of China Town’s finest restaurants especially if you are looking for that modern, fresh appeal. For what it lacks in lush interior it makes up for in delicious food. Warmly recommended.

Nothing impressive, just a regular Chinese restaurant or at least that’s what I thought at the beginning. You should definitely try the roasted duck there’s nothing more delicious than this. Excellent service and décor. Recommend it to everyone.

Didn’t expect it to so expensive, but never the less it was worth every penny. The food was the most delicious chinese cuisine I have ever eaten and I so do not regret getting out of china town and exploring new grounds. The staff were very polite and welcoming, atmosphere was fantastic and my friend even got a free dessert. A definite must try is the restaurant’s special trade mark salad with black mushrooms.

I travel much in Asia and I love good asian food. We choose that restaurant because of the excellent feedback by coffeemick(who has other interesting suggestions). Normally I do not trust recommendations if there are only a few suggestions but here we followed coffeemick and I think he is fully right: it was really marvelous. I can fully recommend this restaurant. Take the menu(I took some photos and uploaded them.) It was sooo delicious that we came back the next evening. This I do seldom since I highly appreciate variations. Have a nice time in this restaurant ;-)

Up town on some business and decidedto lunch here. good decision. Normally I go into Loon Foongs, but change is as good as a rest. Excellent lunch,(I chose a set one), and so well cooked and presented. Can wholly recommend this place. Nice to be able to read previous reviews before going into any of them!

KUNGPOFROGS’ LEGS is the sort of menu item that excites the heck out of me … but I’ve learned from all the aghast(although usually politely so) looks of disgust that the vast majority of people don’t like eating frogs. If you do happen to frogs’ legs then age old Chinatown standby, Royal Dragon, has the goods. And if you don’t, well the menu’s full of much more mundane dishes. It’s a bit hit or miss deep fried soft shell crab with salt and chilli is gorgeous. Sesame prawn toast, not so much. Even if you’re just popping in for a simple stir fry(the mixed seafood stir fry is tasty) or fried rice, the menu makes a fun peruse: duck’s tongue, steak, mango pudding? They’ve got bubble teas too! Service is fine and really speedy. Prices are okay: around £4−5 for starters and under or around £10 for most mains. Lots of restaurants in Chinatown. Some of them suck. Royal Dragon isn’t one of those; it’s good.

Have been eating in Chinatown for more years than I care to remember, and sadly there seems to be a significant ebb and flow as to where’s good to eat — most of my favourites from years ago are now decidedly off the mark :-( At present, however, Royal Dragon is a solid recommendation for Chinatown. In particular, if you don’t feel like the debate as to «what shall we have», I can commend their Set Meals as being both of good quality and reasonable price(not being«padded out» with vegetable dishes, unlike some I could mention!). For the brief periods of summer we get in London, the air conditioning is a bonus.

Been in London for 5 days by the time I got to Soho. Was with a buddy of mine form Belfast and he was hungry. I had eaten recently so was going to just snack. We get to SoHo and start looking for some restaurant he doesn’t remember the locale of. After this exercise in futility we start trying to pick on at random. We narrowed it down to two(right next to each other) and I got to choose. I went for the one on the right because it had a more Chinese sounding name with an allusion to the British Empire. :) There was one patron in the restaurant when we went in which made me nervous as you usually want to see more than that when you pick a place out of the blue. We sit down and order. I always try to go as authentic as possible and this place did not disappoint. I wanted to get my current favorite dish, but wasn’t hungry enough for it. It’s a cold chicken dish that is rarely on the menu but a Chinese staple. I was just happy to know they had it. I got a cold octopus starter and a shredded chicken starter. My buddy got the corn and crab meat soup and a BBQ Duck dish for the main dish. When his soup came out, I was all of a sudden hungry and ended up ordering my own soup. The starters came out and we commenced eating. The Octopus was cooked to perfection! I have never had Octopus so well cooked yet so tender. I have eaten my share of five star sushi and this dish blew them out of the water. The Chicken dish was perfect. Just had to work around the bones but that’s where the flavor is. The soups were piping hot, but a perfect combination of sweet from the corn and salty from the crab. The duck was next with some fried rice. The duck continued the high quality food trend and was perfectly cooked and served with a nice demure sauce. My only complaint was with the rice. The one thing that usually is right and the rest wrong was the one that had the issue. It seemed dry and didn’t stick together. The rice is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. I will definitely going back. Keep in mind that this was my first meal I had in the UK that didn’t have some aspect that was under par. The British food has been living up to it’s stereotypes so far.

Das beste chinesische Essen, was ich jemals gegessen habe. Ein recht kleiner, aber gemütlicher Chinese. Enorme Auswahl an leckeren Gerichten.
