Not bad little patisserie on Regent’s Park Road, although I am not a fan of the pastries(too hard). Takeaway Latte(£1.20) not bad but depends on who makes it. Serves food(but mostly salads, smoked salmon), not a lot of hot food, although it does a couple of hot dishes at lunchtimes(lasagne, soup). Friendly little local.

I love spending a summer day at the Primrose Hill. However every time finding coffee and some take away has been an mission and how I ended up trying also Primrose Patisserie. It looks lovely with the pink walls and round tables, like an good old-fashioned café. From inside the place is very down to earth and even slightly worn out. Everything is home made, and I have to say that the visual side is not the strongest point of this deli. I have tried some salad, that was very simple but OK. Most important factor for me however has been the coffee that after trying it several times, has been just an disappointment. The quality is just not high enough with a nasty bitter taste, I say no thank you. Which is a shame as this café would most certainly have potential to become the locals favorite.

Don’t be mislead by the sassy pink paint and trim robin egg blue awning, once inside, the patisserie is pretty down-to-earth. From the laminated menu to the absolute jumble of small round tables and chairs to the casual counter service, this establishment feels very far away from pretentious. Nor is the food remotely fussy. It’s your typical deli fare, but with a very homey handmade feel. There’s a daily pasta and shepherds pie, plus an assortment of other sides and pastries. The pasta salad I had was pretty simple — corkscrews in a light tomato sauce with some token veggies and Parmesan cheese. It was fine, but not completely memorable. The square of plum tart I had, however, was utterly scrumptious — made with fresh plums and a streusel-like filling; the right delectable balance of sweet and sour. Yum! I wouldn’t make this a destination, but it’s certainly a good little place to duck into for a cappuccino or a quick bite.
