I like this branch. I’m often in the area and service is quick. I usually pop in for breakfast and pick up a yogurt pot which is a particular favourite of mine.

Large branch of Pret with a larger than average selection of sandwiches and snacks. The sausage and egg breakfast barms are particularly delicious. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. A very busy branch with a fast turnover of customers.

Good location and large eating in facility. If you have not tried Pret then you are missing out. The food is all natual and the coffee organic. My opinion is food beats starbucks breakfast sandwiches but the coffee doesn’t!

I LOVE this place. Definitely the best chain restaurant in Europe. It has fresh, convenient and healthy food at very reasonable prices. I love their salads, particularly the crayfish and avocado salad as well as their smoked salmon sandwich. Their smoothies aren’t quite as good and are priced slightly higher(3.45 pounds for the one that tastes like a piña colada). It’s pretty crowded during lunchtime, but the line moves very quickly and they have many registers open. Definitely recommend this place for a quick and healthy lunch!

Super cooler Schnellimbiss.

Pret is fine if you are looking for a quick lunch to take away. This Pret location in particular is large and spacious, but often very crowded. Overall, Pret offers a good variety of fairly priced, average sandwiches.

Possibly the best place for charging your electronic devices! (It is large enough for people to have a casual or official meeting, as well.)

Pret is my fave chain from the UK. I used to frequent the Pret in Union Square, NYC that took over another fave place(‘Tisserie) for their sandwiches, cookies, and tea. When I finally visited London, I found Pret EVERYWHERE! Not all the Pret’s are the same but the consistency of friendly customer service astounds me. This Pret is spacious and I spent a leisurely breakfast here with my small smoked salmon and cream cheese baguette and hot tea on a rainy morning. The friendly lady at the cashier was very sweet and assured me that I’d be more awake after I’ve had my breakfast. The free wifi at Pret is also very nice and I made good use of it. There is a homey feeling of this Pret as well as the one near Farringdon station. I’ve had a number of Pret sandwiches and they have all been pretty consistently decent.

Oh, beloved Pret. You were such wonderful relief after a week of endless boozing, plates of chips, buttery pastries, and dollops of clotted cream. Just when I thought my gallbladder might desperately try to save itself by climbing up my esophagus and leaping out of my mouth, there you were. Your Superfood Salad, Miso Soup, and peppermint tea saved my greasy, mangy soul every day. I’ll miss you when I go back to Canada!

Fast food in America there’s Big Macs with super sized portions of sodas and fries. Fast food in London there’s Pret(French for«Ready to eat»). there’s freshly made pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches(I prefer the baguette ones for £3) in a smaller more manageable portions. I’d describe Pret as a combo Pannera/Starbucks/Boulange but with way better food and free wifi. This particular Pret is roomy and casual with scattered laptop campers from the nearby college. The funky jazz and songs from Adele created a relaxing atmosphere. * Ham, bacon, and cheese croissant — £2WOW! Excellent savoury snack! Smoked bacon lardons and a slice of cured ham, layered with Emmental cheese and a dab of rich tomato sauce.( ) Their croissants are top quality; light and flaky texture without being overly dense and buttery. The secret is in the butter they use, imported from France with a higher butter fat content.(closest pastries back home is from Tartine) Their cookies aren’t as sweet with more texture.( ) From a person who rather go somewhere new EVERY time, we came here a couple times because their pastries were so damm good. PLUS, you have got to love a place that donates its daily unsold food to homeless charities. That’s social responsibility and I’ll round my 4.5 up. I can see why Travel and Leisure magazine names Pret as one of the top Fast Food restaurants in the world.( )

This is what you would usually expect from a pret. Decent food, tasty, but not the cheapest option.

Once the staff here gave me a free hot chocolate for being in a happy mood. They said I was the smiliest person that day, and that I deserved a free drink. Yay! It’s great that they encourage happy customers!

The usual Pret food and coffee, which to my taste is quite good and healthy for a fast food. Unfortunately, this particular shop is Very Very busy! Whenever I want to sit down for a cup of coffee before my class at SOAS It’s a hassle to get any table(let alone a good one).

Pret saved me while I was in London! Their ingredients were always fresh and of great quality. I loved their baguettes with brie, basil, and tomato and their Love Bars were heavenly! We all know that London isn’t especially famous for its light and healthy food(very much the contrary, I’ll have you know) so Pret was an excellent meal option for anytime of the day.

If I(or anyone else in our group) missed breakfast, which was often, we would usually stop here before heading out to wherever we were going for the day. Not that we really missed out on anything in the dining hall. The food is definitely better than at Tesco, and the coffee is definitely comparable to Starbucks. I find Pret better than Starbucks because it also sells a good variety of convenient food which actually tastes good. If only Pret existed on the West Coast of the USA…

I love this place! So convenient and perfect if you just want to grab a quick lunch on a busy day. They have a decent variety of pre-packaged sandwiches, I love the chicken avocado sandwich. There are so many of these on every other corner!

It’s a great time to be English. Minus the rain. And the women. I’m sitting inside right now while the charge in my netbook slowly drains out of it. Great sandwiches! Very tasty! Great prices too(if you’re English) but with the USD at 1.7:1 right now half a sandwich costs 1.5UK=2.55USD. Which I guess isn’t too bad… I should’ve gotten the whole sandwich though. for 3UK=5USD. But bloody hell, a can of Coke costs 90P=1.5USD here. And is it too much to ask for some bloody electrical outlets??? The Wifi’s free though… maybe I should head over to Starbucks.

Oh, Pret, I’ll miss you so much. In a city where most food is blander than water, your sandwiches actually had flavour. The super club saved me from many a hungry afternoon without breaking my bank account. It was so delicious that I barely had time to start branching out to other sandwiches before I was whisked back to the US. You were uncomplicated, reliable, and available whenever I needed you. I hope one day you’ll decide to come to LA, where we can be together forever, but until then, I’ll never forget our spring fling.

Why am i reviewing a soulless chain that can be found everywhere and is really no different than Starbucks et al?(well, can be found all over the UK, Hong Kong and NYC at least) Because Pret is special. It has soul, it’s sandwiches are quite affordable(around the 2.50 region). And when one is a student needing to conserve your quid, that’s quite nice and still very tasty. Their lattes are nicely prepared, their chicken club sandwich makes me quite happy and the mozzarella and tomato croissant is fantastic. I have a much greater appreciation for simple sandwiches now because of Pret(so long as those simple sandwiches are prepared quite well). I do wish we had one in San Francisco, however. I think that’s my only gripe about Pret…

It’s an obstinate chain of the sandwich-café variety whose stubborn recurrence on the streets of London at two-block intervals can make even the person least concerned with restaurant diversity want to pull her hair out. So why am I reviewing a Pret a Manger, you might ask? Because this one is big. Big, convenient, and comfortable. No matter how many tourists pouring into it from Russell Square station across the street, there’s always room for you, your cheap tea/coffee and some work/reading material. Did I mention the wifi is free? Yeah, it’s free. And if you can’t get your notebook to connect to ‘the Cloud’, the manager of this location will make it his personal job to fix it, even if this means restarting the router, thus kicking off anyone else in the café who was using it in the process. If you can snag one of the comfortable chairs in the window enclave, you can get some serious people watching in as well. Any visit over 15 minutes will reward you with recycled music, as it would seem this Pret a Manger only has five songs on a continuous loop pumping out of its speakers.(And, by ‘reward’, I mean ‘irritate’.) So, yeah. The tea is cheap, the wifi is free and the seating is comfortable. It’s the only Pret a Manger location I would want to visit, as it would seem the others tend to be cramped, unaccommodating lunchtime conveyor belts for the city’s professionals. And the counter staff won’t sneer at you when you go to pay for your £1.18 tea with a credit card, as I’m wont to do. What can I say, my classiness impresses even me.

The summer before I moved to London, I met a younger relative of mine at a family wedding. He’s a Londoner born and bred, and the minute he heard I was moving to the big smoke he wouldn’t shut up about Pret. Except of course he didn’t pronounce the ‘t’, instead harping on about how he couldn’t wait to get home for a ‘Preh brownie’, and that he had withdrawal symptoms from not drinking at least three ‘Preh lah-tays’ a day. Preh this. Preh that. How I laughed at him. Particularly so as the wedding was in Vienna, the home of swirly, creamy coffee things. Now it’s three years later and I have only recently managed to wean myself off the charms of Pret. What can I say about the place? It’s Veggie Sandwiches of the Week, so-gooey-they’re-wrong choc croissants, avocado wraps, parsnip crisps, do-gooder image and chirpy staff have fueled my time in this town. Most Prets manage to provide almost identical products, but this Russell Square branch has been particularly consistent in its ability to produce extra-foamy lattes, while also boasting large egg chairs and sofas to enjoy them in. I know it’s silly, but I also like Pret better since McDonalds renounced their 25% share in the chain.
