Prêt a Manger conquered London, is everywhere, goodbye Starbucks! Is a very very organic oriented place to have breakfast, lunch or any meal besides dinner I would say, I had breakfast there everyday I stayed in London, some days had high protein muffin and other smoked salmon sandwich, both delicious. I had Lattes or Hot Chocolate, both very good too. They have several options to eat, cold or hot, I highly recommend, I would like Sao Paulo, my city, to have it too. Is good also because they have toilets available!

This is a much much better option than Starbucks at Kings Cross Station. I’m sorry I didnt even realise that Pret a Manger was present at this location until last Saturday. I have to catch an early morning train most Saturdays and I would stop at starbucks to pick up coffee and a snack for the journey because it gave me a clear view of the time boards. Pret is located in a break in the shops(which was why I hadn’t noticed it before), 1. gives the same great view of the boards 2. has seating space with tables! 3. has multiple billing counters 4. has so many more breakfast options 5. much faster service 6. extremely lovely staff who share a greeting/joke/banter as you wait for your coffee to be ready and of course, the coffee is much better too :)

We went to the location near the war museum but I don’t know the address. Their food is fresh and hopefully healthier than other fast food places. My daughter and I had the grilled mozzarella and tomato sandwich with pesto. Yum! Sea salt crisps, sparkling grape/berry soda and chocolate mousse completed the meal. I bought a milk chocolate bar with orange and cardamom flavoring for later along with two different kinds of oat/fruit bars. They were all delicious! They offer a large selection of sandwiches, salads, etc. so I can go back several times to try different things. They have free wifi which was nice for us tourists. And many locations.

I went to a few of these while in London, and loved the convenient, fresh and affordable food. I had a great salad, good yogurt parfait for breakfast and lots of other small things to grab for the road. The only thing I didn’t like was a breakfast sandwich that I had(egg & tomato). This isn’t five star review because it is the BEST food I’ve ever had, but for«fast food,» it is right at the top for me.

Tiny store but handy for grabbing a coffee if you are waiting for a train at Kings Cross next door… Standard soulless machine brew but its hot and today it is seriously cold outside so it hits the mark. Not a great fan of the manufactured neighbourhood feel they go for but the fact leftovers are passed on to the homeless at the end of the day is reason enough to visit. Coffee with a conscience! Much better option compared to the Starbucks next door which is always heaving with tourists and students.

Pret is an oasis in the barren wasteland of British cuisine. I’d seen it in my past trips to London, but never tried it until I needed to grab a quick bite while passing through King’s Cross. I’ve tried the smoked salmon and the chicken bang bang sandwiches, both of which were fresh and tasty. The mango and passion fruit water were flavorful without being too sweet. While not life changing, you could do a lot worse at an airport or station than Pret.

Pret is the greatest thing to happen to sandwich takeaway since someone had the good idea to pair meat with cheese. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal here. The pole line caught tuna and cucumber is so good I think I’ve had it two or three days in a row before. I’d love to try the soups and hot sandwiches, but so far I haven’t been able to ween myself off the fresh baguettes and club sandwiches.

My hommos/falafel sandwich was just okay. I hear they’re the standard go-to for takeaway, and the range of options justifies that. The free wifi is so appreciated by us stuck-in-airplane-mode folks!

Occasion: Lunch on the way to work or on weekends What I Had: Sandwiches… Chicken and pesto bloomer Tuna mayo Free-range egg mayo Mature Cheddar & Pret Pickle Food Review: The sandwiches here are solid, and what gets me is they come in those uniquely British triangular packaging! Pret to me is like the healthy fast food chain of the UK. I would choose Pret over Starbucks, McDonald’s, Coffee Bean, Pete’s, or any other quick grab-n-go coffee and food place. Although I’ve pretty much only had their sandwiches and a few other items, they run the gamut of food items, from soups and salads to sushi and pret pots. Service Review: Nothing much to say about the service. Everyone was really friendly. Venue Review: The stores are always set up pretty well so you can grab a sandwich or other items from the front of the store and pay at the back(that way you don’t have to wait in line to get to the sandwich section like you do at Starbucks). Overall Impression: The food isn’t the best I’ve ever tasted, but it’s great and as Pret is predominantly based in London aside from a couple shops internationally, I love this place mainly because it reminds me of London.

i’d just like to take a minute before i review to point out that bruce k’s quote: «I *heart* Pret. It is unlike anything I’ve experienced in the States,» rings hollow, because pret exists in america too, so don’t play like america doesn’t have fresh sandwiches, cause we do — hollaaa anyway — pret. yum. the new sandwich on artisan bread with chicken, basil, bacon, and cheese is like actually a work of art… trust me, i go to central saint martins! and the brownies here are fucking amazing. so dense and fudgey yum. plus they do delivery?! i think i’m going to start planning ahead so when i wake up still drunk and hungover on the weekends i can be like«ahh no need to venture out into the sunny streets or order a crap kebab for delivery — pret is coming to me in an hour!» woohooo love ya pret

Ah, the ubiquitous Pret. I am inclined to give it 5-stars just for the crayfish and mango bloomer, which is truly delicious. Great chain concept, reliably good food. My favourite picks: –baguette with sharp cheese, roasted tomato, onion, pickle… forget what this one is called. –Aforementioned crayfish mango bloomer –pole line caught tuna and cucumber –hoisin duck wrap Also one of the few chains where you can consistently get filter(rather than espresso) coffee here.

Some Prets can have a limited selection of sandwiches — not so here. When I visited, it had the full range of sandwiches on offer, well stocked with more being added all the time even when it was the Lunch hour. Staff were plentiful, well trained and polite. Seating, though limited, was clean and tidy.

Need a coffee at kings cross? Forget the coffee inside the station, this pret is your best bet. It also outshines most of St pancreas stations offerings as long as you’re not there before the regular coffee makers arrive. It is made on an automatic machine so won’t get any better but when choice is small…

I *heart* Pret. It is unlike anything I’ve experienced in the States. Fresh sandwiches and salads made that day. And if it doesn’t sell, they don’t keep it overnight to sell the next day — they give them to charity. Always great selections — I try to get something different each time. Today’s veggie special was AWESOME. So good, I had to look it up on their website to see. Humous, Roasted Tomatoes, Cucumber, Red Onion, Lemon Juice, and Leaf Spinach. Oh, so good! Sure, they have coffees and teas and even Coke/Diet Coke. But give their own brand Ginger Beer(non-alcoholic) a try. Absolutely nothing in it except carbonated water, ginger, lemon juice and«natural flavors». Excellent tart taste. But what about dessert, you ask? How about a slice of carrot cake! I won’t waste words on the ingredients, but know there’s nothing in there that’s not found in nature. Five stars, even though it’s «fast» food. It is as good as fast food can be!

Pret-A-Manager is a God-Send! I first had Pret-A-Manager while visiting New York and was glad to find it here in good ol’ London! During my 1 week stay in London, I lived off of Pret-A-Manager’s salads and sandwiches. I love how everything is pre-made, but most importantly FRESH! You have lots of choices of sandwiches and salads. What is great is, you can choose to have a whole sandwich or mix it up and have halves of any two you like. My absolute favorite was the spinach salad with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella.

I’m not sure how to review Pret A Manager, it has loads of fresh, organic sammys, salads, etc. You can eat in, or take — away. The closest thing I can compare it to in Chicago is: Imagine if The Goddess & The Grocer, or Southport Grocery were a massive chain. I mean massive, I think I saw several at Heathrow alone.
