The name Prêt à Manger(ready to eat) was coined by Valerie Tomalin, who morphed the title from prêt-à-porter, meaning«ready-to-wear». The outlet focused on gourmet, ready-to-eat food which was inspired by what the traiteurs of Paris served; the store’s design was inspired by steel and chrome sandwich bars in New York City. This is my local Pret and serves as an emergency coffee stop as no Starbucks close by

I wouldn’t review a Pret coffee shop if this one didn’t really deserve to be shared. Apparently they’re trying a new model of coffee shop here, promoting higher quality coffee, nicer seating According to what the staff told me, this is the only Pret outlet of this kind at the moment. The décor is different from other branches, seating is much better for example, and you don’t have the walls full of fridges stocked with sandwiches and wraps. Instead, there is just a small fridge and you can order baguettes/soups/salad to be prepared for you, choosing from a panel. Coffee is different too, and the machine is much better. Also, they have proper china cups if you’re eating in. But the best from this Pret outlet is the staff. They don’t seem at all like Pret employees, are ultra-friendly and attentive, and don’t rush you to order anything. So, it’s like a improved version of Pret, with still good prices. I like coming here if I’m in the area on weekdays.
