Terrible service, good food and no service charge. No attention to detail, dirty glasses, you have to keep calling the waiting staff, quite disappointing. Service ruins the whole experience.

Eh, this is place is OK. This was my first adventure for Italian in London. Came her for a business dinner and while I must admit the service was the great, the food was just OK compared to what I can get back in the states or Italy. I tried the Prawns in a garlic sauce as a starter and clams linguine as my entrée. Both dishes were tasty, but probably wouldn’t wow you. However, I can’t compare it to any other options in the area… and judging from how busy it was, people in the area really like this place. Overall, the atmosphere is super friendly and service is excellent. If you are looking for a decent meal, you couldn’t go wrong by eating here.

What a find! We tried this as an alternative to the usual restaurants we go to in Crystal Palace. I really don’t know why we hadn’t tried this restaurant before. The seating space is divided into two areas — the front part has a bar and is a slightly more relaxed space, whereas the second part is a little more formal. We wanted to sit somewhere warm, cosy and away from other people, so we opted for a table just into the second part of the restaurant — behind a set of shelves with wine and champagne bottles under lights. It was really pretty and quite secluded. In fact no one else sat in that part of the restaurant all night — for 8.30pm on a Saturday, it was quite quiet. The food on offer spanned the full gamut of Italian cuisine, from pizza, pasta and gnocchi to fish, beef and veal. I went for the vitello milanese and my friend went for the swordfish. I swapped my chips for the rosemary roast potatoes, which was the best decision that I have made in a long time — they were crispy and perfect to accompany the veal. We shared a bottle of cab that was both delicious and reasonable at around £24. For pudding we had the home made tiramisu(had to be done!) and it was delicious — not too sweet and not at all sickly, and quite large! What really made this such a brilliant night, was the service. Everyone was so warm and friendly and fun. It really was a brilliant night and we are going back again very soon!

What an absolute gem of a place. This is now my new favourite Italian restaurant in this area. The staff were so friendly; telling us about their childhoods in Italy, discussing beaches we’d visited in Sardina. One lovely Portuguese waiter even found great restaurants for me to visit on my up-coming trip to Lisbon! But apart from the amazing and attentive services, the food was exceptional. I had the swordfish with minted potatoes and roasted peppers. It was delicious! I should happily have it again for every meal there, if I weren’t so excited about trying all the other delicious things on the menu, that is! My friend and I had an especially lovely night. Thank you to all the staff, especially the chef!

Have been here three or four times and always found it serves up decent Italian food at good prices. I agree that the size of it can make everything feel a tad impersonal, but there’s always a free table, the atmosphere is laid-back and the service is reliably friendly and quick. Food-wise, there’s nothing that’ll absolutely wow you, but it definitely beats pizza express. Pastas and risottos are rich in flavour and aren’t swimming in oil, the pizzas are always great and there are some good starters on offer. All in all, it’s reliable, friendly and worth trying if you’re after quick eats in Crystal Palace!

Il Ponte is a great Italian restaurant offering good food at reasonable prices. Great for families and for family celebrations. The service is fantastic and is perfect for a light lunch or a candlelit evening meal, I love Il Ponte, yum!
