Great pierogies.- the best homemade ever. With my family we make our own — but my family is not here and thus I searched and found Polsmak, wonderful christmas specialties. amazing pierogies.

Great little shop, very clean and neat. True that everything is in Polish, but if you ask for help the staff are ready to assist. We were looking for some good Polish kielbasa(sausage) and this was the place to go. Also picked up some pierogies(dumplings) with cheese and potato and some Polish beer. If you’re looking for a Polish market I’m not sure you could do better in London. One good way to get there from the West side of the city is on the # 30 bus from Baker Street tube station, and get out by Kingsland road.

I’m not sure what Melania P. is talking about… I often go into shops and no-one asks me if I need help, and you know what? I like it that way. If I need help I ASKFORIT. I came in here to buy some buckwheat(mmmm), the labels are all in Polish or something so I ASKED and the nice lady got it for me straight away. Simple. As for the rest of the shop, it’s lovely.

I like it. I don’t speak a word of Polish, but found the staff very helpful in explaining and helping me decide what deli meats and other baked treats I might like. The dark-rined ham is brilliant and very well priced; I stock up whenever I’m passing. Also nice to see stick pretzels on offer. :-D

Good polish shop, best for polish beer. I bought some plum tiny potato dumpling things here just to try them and frankly they were a bit weird, very difficult to cook and gave me unpleasant tummy trouble. So avoid those.

Polish food is way too underated and I really suggest you try rustle up a meal sometime and this is a perfect deli supermarket to get all your ingredients. Everything is 100% Polish so obviously all the labeling is in Polish which can be a bit daunting, but that’s part of the fun of it. So once you’ve managed to distract the staff from their friendly gossip they’re usually pretty helpful gathering what you need. I went armed with a recipe and between us we found most of what I needed, much to the amusement of the guy who was helping me. The prices were reasonable too and although I wont be rushing back in too much of a hurry, I’m glad I know it’s here for the future. If you have time you should sit and try the packzi, sweet little polish cream buns, they’re a real treat. Just don’t go alone or you will feel like a bit of an outsider!

«This is a newly opened Polish Deli on the lovely Balls Pond Rd. It is small, but jam packed with treats. Now i can’t claim to be au fait with Polish culture, but it seems this place has an impressive stock, the queues that snake out of the shop at peek times seem to hint that this isn’t an unsubstantiated claim. They have a large fresh, cured meat counter with lots of scary looking hams, and smoked cheeses My favourite thing about the deli, and the reason i visit almost daily, is that they do amazing delicious coffee to take away for a mere £1 — a huge, steaming latte for a quid? Yep please!»

When I walked into Polsmak I felt as if I had stepped off a London street and into a deli in Warsaw. Everyone was speaking Polish and I felt like I was intruding on some private club. As I looked around I saw several items on shelves all in Polish. There were several meats and cheeses in the deli case that I thought about trying. However, I found it distrubing that no one asked me if I needed help and the staff acted as if I wasn’t there. The shop had lots of interesting items but since it was clear that I was not welcome I left. I am sure I won’t go back, the shop is a Polish deli and I got the distinct impress they’d like their customers to be Polish as well.
