We love coming here for the unparalleled service and charming atmosphere. We never have to ask for more water, the food always arrives promptly and the staff treat you as they ought to treat paying customers. The food is always of excellent standards, we are particular fans of the fish and chips, although the smoked salmon isn’t bad either. A great location: easy to find. It also brings you away from the crowds which is nice. PJ’s is always a comforting choice for South Kensington, an area that’s nearly always overcrowded and uncomfortably loud b

One of my favourite local restaurants to go. I’m a fan of dinner or brunch there or even just drinks at the bar or one of their outdoor tables. Service has always been fantastic, and the food too. The great thing is the attitude, you can come drink and/or eat for as long as you like, no rushing you to get you out, allowing you to really enjoy yourself.

A Chelsea institution! Have been here hundreds of times for over 25 years. Simple, classic food done very well. Excellent brunch especially. The atmosphere is always superb, especially on weekends and the staff are friendly and professional. Definitely on my top 10 list in London. I hope this place never changes!

Came with a friend for a nice Saturday brunch. I had a bloody mary and we both had the full English breakfast with poached eggs. A very substantial meal and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, the yoke oozing yumminess! A classic done right, I will definitely be back again.

This place reminds me of PJ Clarkes in NYC. Its a cozy spot just in between Chelsea and S. Kensington. Great ambiance and even though we didn’t this time, it inspires drinking during lunch. Great red leather chairs and wooden tables are comfortable and casually chic. The food is undeniably good. We had the tuna tartare to start and an artichoke each. The artichoke comes peeled for you with a delicious vinaigrette and the heart cut out. Overall a great experience and will bring more friends here when in the neighborhood at the V and A or doing some shopping on Kings Road.

I loved my meal at PJ’s. It’s a large, dark restaurant that seems higher end, but without the snobbery that would accompany such a thing. I felt comfortable in jeans and a button-down shirt. I had a steak that was cooked to perfection, and our server was great. For four people with drinks, our total was $ 245, which isn’t bad, considering how good the food was and how well we were treated. As an added bonus, we got to see a man sitting at a table by himself, drinking martinis. He was seated next to a woman sitting alone, drinking wine. By the end of the night, they were seated at the same table. And I truly hope they went home and defiled one another.

I ordered the sirloin steak instead of the usual Sunday brunch variety. I was slightly disappointed with the quality of meat. I would recommend one want to stick with what the restaurant is known for.

I love going to PJs for a great meal whether I am sitting at the bar or table. The service is always super friendly and the food is quality. The restaurant is open and the décor is clean and classic, think lots of dark wood and a ceiling fan that was once a propeller on an old plane. I’ve dined here for both brunch and dinner. At dinner the restaurant is lively and usually packed. My favorite item on the menu is the Chateaubriand for two, for the price it is an amazing steak and the accompanying sauces are delish. They put on a great brunch as well, where you can get a top notch eggs benedict. I look forward to my next meal at PJs!

Arrived at approximately 6.15pm and already all the bar seats were taken — good sign? I actually would like to give Pj’s three and a half stars, I really do like it and would probably go again but I don’t think I would choose it if I were organising an evening out with friends, if you know what I mean. Drinks are priced as one would expect from it’s location, but although they do serve cocktails, I couldn’t comment because I was on the bubbles for the evening. However I did watch two members of staff fumble around making a classic Cosmo — meh! I almost snatched the orange peel from their hands and burnt it myself! The décor, it’s warming(not quite homely or cozy) due to the extravagant use of honey coloured polished wood, coupled with brass and deep reds. That said, I do feel there are too many table squished in. I think I would be doing PJ’s a disservice, if I didn’t make mention of the stunning«suspended wooden aeroplane propeller, from one of the first original Vickers-Vimy c.1911.» It’s rather handsom and shows off the high ceiling. This is a nice bar and most would at least enjoy one or two visits. It does feel(and so I’m told is) like a locals place — a bit like a British(and upmarket) version of Cheers. I have to admit, the few times I have been in, I have met some characters, which is always a draw for me. However at the same time it is busy, can be hard to get a seat if you’re not booked for dinner, and can get rather loud. Haha! I sound like an old woman.

FOOD: 3 Average. We had Oysters, french onion soup, tiger prawns, and a sirloin. All were pretty good but not spectacular. The apple walnut crumble desert was actually kind of gross. DECOR: 3 This place could use an overhaul. But more than the décor was the crowd. The bar was the focus of the room which is disconcerting when dining. But to be fair, it is a BAR and grill. The crowd was interesting to say the least, with lots of «mating games» going on at the bar between several very older guys with younger women and one reverse situation. Not judging at all, just commenting. SERVICE: 3 As you would expect at a place like this, service was not above and beyond but they delivered. You didn’t feel special but also didn’t feel neglected. I did get the sense that perhaps we were the only ones not from the neighborhood. Like going into the famous television bar called«Cheers». VALUE: 4 Very reasonably priced place, especially for Chelsea/Fulham area. Would I go back? No. Should you? Only if you live nearby.

LOVE pj’s! Reminds me of PJ Clarke’s in NYC(a plus, especially during the festive holiday season). Wood panelling, super old school(yet london) vibe, super friendly bartenders, and AMAZING chocolate espresso martinis. The bloodies are actually one of the best I’ve had in London, and it seems like a lot of older neighborhood locals frequent the place. Great location on Fulham Rd, and while my boyfriend wasn’t too wild about the one meal he had here(chicken sandwich of some kind, fried), I think it’s still one of the spots we’ve hit the most in london! Side cheesy note — we saw a few people from that made in chelsea show here as well(ahem, I didn’t recognize, but my boyfriend did), and the staff didn’t treat them any better than anyone else(or perhaps didn’t know who they were, like myself). The bartender told us that the helicopter propeller hanging over the bar is the owners(used to fly helicopters/was a pilot? cursing my memory and lack of attention now), and much of the place has been the same for years and years… free wifi as well(but so do most places), and the«optional» 12.5% gratuity

Nice place for Sunday Brunch. I have been here a couple of times, the place is nicely furbished with a distinctive British style, even if is an American-inspired spot. It is always full over the weekends, so need to book, but it is not noisy. The staff is nice, some of them pretend to be funny but it is not always the case. Anyway, the food is good and rightly priced. I had a burger once and was very big and tasty and yesterday I tried the chicken club sandwich: it was the right size, not too big and okay in terms of taste. It comes with a salad and french fries, that are probably the best thing you get here, delicious. One thing to improve: the coffee! the espresso is awful!

If you are a glamour seeking Euro or American ex-pat, this is your destination brunch spot. And I’m not, so I only go here when other American ex-pats force it on me(like birthdays, showers, etc.). The food is meh — for the prices they charge you, I would expect something a bit more special. Never remarkable, never awful. Atmosphere — dark wood, dark lighting, white tablecloths… the better to show off designer shades on an early morning(to mask the hangover or just because it’s cool… who knows). And the clientale are usually pretty chelsea(colored pants, ribbon belts, and coiffed hair for the gents, anything designer and expensive for the ladies). Service — good olé English. Mildly neglectful with an overtone of politeness. However, if you’re here on an early evening there’s some good people watching involving the local sugar daddies and women half their age.

Hit up this spot this past sunny sunday and got roasted sitting out in the sun. As an American, the last thing I’d really want to go to is an American joint, but I figure… what the hell, my friend’s sister loves it, so let’s have it. Eggs benedict(£8) that my friend ordered werepretty f’ing awesome, but considering I was on fire and then some, I opted for the smoked salmon + potato cake + crème fraîche with a side of green salad(came out to be about £12). I think it’s reasonable for the price considering the area. And Lambourghinis and Porches were rolling by and trophy wives with fake tans were walking their husbands — so it was a good people watching spot. If I hadn’t been my pansy self in that hot weather, I would’ve been able to eat dessert. But I did look at some of them and they look amaaaazing.

From time to time I find myself in the vicinity of PJ’s on the Fulham Road and somehow I end up sitting at a table inside with a menu and a glass of something cool and later I regret the moment I set foot in the door. The décor at PJ’s is quite Ralph Lauren-esque. The people are a mix of young Fulhamites and the people who own the houses around the squares of SW7. No one here is poor or worrying about the Credit Crunch. I quite like the food — classic American fare with a French influence, including Caesar salad, steaks, tuna tartare, foie gras. However, I don’t think the food is good enough to warrant the prices and the service is always a bit cold. Not my favourite place in town. Better with a crowd for a weekend brunch than dinner.

This is one of my favorite broozy(brunch ‘n’ booze) joints in London. Very cool, very laid back, and most importantly they make a pretty mean bloody mary. Food’s fairly decent, the eggs benedict are my staple order unless I’m in a burgery kinda mood. A little bit pricey, but show me a non-pricey restaurant in London and I’ll add another star.

The first time I there was with Peter James — I have to admit the name resemblance was quite funny. In London you find lots of places, which are totally stylish and modern. Even though PJ serves modern American cuisine, it can be more described as traditional and classy. The restaurant is decorated in dark wood and has a down to earth but refined atmosphere. The quality of the service is excellent and the selection of the menu card tells you this is a place in Chelsea, which not only looks posh but also delivers what it promises. Although I have been there for a light weekend lunch — as they serve excellent tuna and beef carpaccio and spicy Bloody Marys, I have to admit this place comes most alive in the evening with its charm and character. If you make a reservation early enough you might get a table towards the window, especially in summer it is amusing whilst enjoying a delightful meal, watching the people walking past you on Fulham Road. As for the menus I can highly recommend as starter the moules or even the fish soup. If you like fish, I recommend the sea bass as main course– it shares the plate with citrus fennel salad and coriander. The magret duck breast with glazed apples and lavender honey sauce lingers fondly on the palate was for a meat gourmet like me the right choice. Little details made this place one of my favourite: The fresh bread served by the waiter, the neatly folded napkins and not to forget the Grappa at the end.
