Pink and white a great small nail salon near Angel. I tried a local upscale salon but like this much better as fast and efficient. Switched from p&w nails to shellac when I moved from DC to Islington and they do a great job!

I’ve been going here every two weeks for nearly two years. They do a great shellac manicure and regular pedicure. They are thorough, listen to my requests, the shellac last a long time, and they have a great color selection. I 100% recommend.

Hmmmm… I don’t like this place. I came here on a weekday morning and got a walk in appointment for shellac hands and a pedi but left unimpressed. Firstly I could smell the towels… I could tell that they had been washed but they still smelled funky. Maybe they need to put them on a higher temperature when they wash them or maybe they’re just super old and gross! Secondly I had to get the girl to repaint one of my big toes as she’d missed a chunk??? I don’t even know how this was possible??? And thirdly I had shellac polish on the underneaths of my fingers and around the nail by the end of my treatment. That’s just sloppy and unprofessional. When I asked the girl to tidy up the red polish that was all over my skin she took out the cuticle trimmers and started snipping off bits of my skin before I stopped her!!! Ewww!!! Positives are that it’s easy to get a walk in appointment and they have a large range of colours and brands to choose from. This was my only visit so I can’t speak about all the staff but I won’t be back.

Two visits so far, plus one to their sister salon further north up Essex Rd: 1. Removal of shellac done elsewhere and regular manicure. Very gently done with the takeoff, not too«scrapey» like some salons. The manicure chipped after about 12 hours and was pretty uneven but the chipping at least had more to do with the condition of my nails. 2. OPI gel polish manicure. Really excellent work. My only complaint about this place is the overall cleanliness could use some work and they need better ventilation by a mile. Their salon further north is larger and cleaner.

First off, let me start by saying that I am a right picky wench where my nails are concerned. I notice every small polish imperfection, I scrutinize them from every angle to check for uneven filing work, and I want them to be uniform. I’m not rude, but I will not hesitate to point out an issue and ask for it to be fixed. I tell you this not so that you can hate on the entitled and demanding American; I tell you this so that you can read my 5-star review and know that this place hits the mark!!! I have been going to Kevin for all but my first appointment, and he is my homie. BFFs forevah! He is quick, thorough, does beautiful and precision polish work, and he is more than happy to adjust any little minor thing that you want tweaked. Believe me, if he hasn’t given me ‘the look’(you know the one, all exasperated and full of ill-concealed impatience), then I think it’s safe to say that he is just incredibly patient and happy to accommodate. The thing that I like most about Kevin is that he remembers my preferences from appointment to appointment; he knows that I prefer to shape mine at the end, and knows just how I like to have the sides filed, and he asks before shortening them. See? I’m insane, but at least I own it! In other news, the salon uses only top quality products: OPI and Essie for standard polishes, and the OPI and Creative for the gel manicures. They have every color you could ever hope to choose from, and they don’t cut corners with cheaper duplicates. Every single thing I have seen them use is brand name and specific. To me, that says that they value the performance of a brand and then pass it on to their clients. They have the spa pedicure chairs and they clean them after each client. The prices are very fair, especially given the location. Cash only, so stop at the ATM before you show up.
