Great coffee, tea, fresh sandwiches and friendly service and good prices given the location. Really handy when working around Westminster.

THIEVES! Saw the sign while visiting Westminster Abbey and Parliament. Stepped off the beaten path and ordered the tuna with egg stand wifi and my friend had a panini(chicken, bacon & cheese). Almost completed the ¼ sandwich and realized there was no tins at all! Took it back to the counter. The sandwich was 3.90 and when I went to leave I handed the proprietor a 10 pound note… surprisingly one bottle of water and the 2 sandwiches came to 10 pounds! So they didn’t get away with cheating me out of the tuns but they cheated me at checkout… what thieves.

So I’d been hearing good things about Pickles for a while and I decided that today was the day that I’d finally give it a go. It’s a little hidden to be honest, but you can generally find it because there was a co start stream of people entering it at lunchtime. They do sandwiches, as well as a few bits of hot food — lasagna and a couple of pastas as well as breakfast items. I opted for chicken and avocado in a brown roll/bap and a bottle of Snapple which came to just over a fiver to take away. This might sound steep — but considering the size of the roll in question it really was t as it seemed to be about the same size as a child’s head. Plus it was also really tasty, and well seasoned. The staff were also super friendly and cheerful. This is now on my lunch rotation as it isn’t too far from the office!

I was traveling with my parents, sister, and grandmother when we stumbled upon Pickles. The people were SO nice, food is tasty, and it was a need local lunch spot. We went in a few days later(my mom and I) and they knew us by name and asked where grandma, sister and dad were. It was so nice to be welcomed to a neighborhood spot!

Awesome cheap option around all the good sites. Get to choose your bread with some slightly unusual options available. The sandwiches are HUGE! You definitely get more than you pay for. A welcome change from McDonalds and fish and chips.

Was a good lower cost option close to all the tourist spots. Able to choose your breads and meats and toppings. We had 9 people and they did a good job of getting us taken care of. The baked goods were not as good as the sandwiches. Can also get sandwiches to go and eat on the street or nearby park

We stumbled upon Pickles by mistake while on a visit to Westminster Abbey. This place is hidden in an alley behind a wine shop on the way to Buckingham Palace. Do not be tricked — the wine shop does NOT have breakfast! So my visions of a cute sidewalk café were balked, and pickles it was. We grabbed quick danishes, eggs and bread, and coffee. Asking for cream and sugar and heaven forbid flatware made me feel like the picky American I probably am. Probably the cheapest London meal we have had, however my emergency Clif Bar might have sufficed. And some Starbucks…

BASICBUTOK It’s a basic sandwich place /café. Great location with little competition. It serves all sorts and the staff are no-nonsense but friendly enough to have a chat with. Food is basic and a bit pricey but given the area the rent is probably high. Great for popping into now and then as it opens around 7am if I get to work early.

When I visited Westminster 3 years ago my wife and I ran into this little quaint, sit-down sandwich shop while walking from Buckingham Palace to the Westminster Cathedral. I am obsessed with pickles but don’t let the name fool you! They only put pickles on their sandwiches, which are sliced. No giant, whole juicy pickles, no! Nevertheless, the restaurant was so small and old that the whole vibe just made me feel I was a local. Great pastrami sandwich with sauerkraut and some chips(That’s British for fries). Anyways, if you can make it there please go inside. No tourists in sight. You will feel like your back in the 19th century and I think the owners live upstairs, which makes it that much more personable. You can check my profile for a picture of me at the Pickle Sandwich Bar!

A perfectly fine sandwich place. The sausage sandwich was pretty bland. But the vegetarian egg sandwich was very much liked by the girlfriend. Great location — if you need a quick bite while touring around the area though, it is exactly what you need.

A wonderful sandwich counter(very basic and simple spot) close to the Churchill Museum, Big Ben, and right beside St. James Park. I don’t remember what anyone else ordered, but someone recommended the bacon and brie sandwich to me, and that was pure pleasure! I devoured it while basking in the sun(well, at least I was told by the locals who worked in the area that it was a sunny day ;/) and sitting on the grass in the park.
