Piccolo Caffe is located inside the Hogarth Youth and Community Centre so it was very difficult for me to find. I had a flyer in hand with a map even! Basically you have to walk behind the youth centre between it and a Catholic school go in through the back door, through another set of doors and around the corner. My first venture there I had to ask two different people to find my way, and then it was closed. My second visit was more successful. This has the feel of a school basement or something. It is kind of ghetto. However, it is cheap for both of my kids to get in was around 3 quid, I ordered a large cappuccino and it was still around 6. In the café area they have some toys and ride on scooters and stuff. Across the hall is an open area with a stage where they can ride on the scooters and cars and whatever. Down the hall is a soft play room with a small bouncy castle and those big plastic foam block things. There is even a very small ball pit. They do have an out door play area. I have to warn you though. If you go out there, you will most likely be locked out. I was. So then I guess either walk around the building and repeat the first steps or do what I did, let your kids play until someone else comes out. I will say that the toys are a bit run down especially the ones outside. I would normally give a place like this, one or two stars. But they get points for being cheap, being walking distance from home, and I think it will be really great when it is rainy and we just need out out out. Also, I need to give them a fair chance because I didn’t try the food. They do have an events schedule, messy play, Amanda’s Action Kids things like that. I have not been to one of these either. They might be great. You can also book private parties here.
