E l único pub abierto que hemos encontrado en London el día de Navidad!!! Variedad de cervezas; de las auténticas. Eternamente agradecida!!!

Philomena’s has been on my radar for sometime now as my housemate constantly raves about it! Finally this week Emily and myself toddled in and what a night to have chosen. They were hosting a special Christmas event to raise money for charity — the atmosphere was merry and the cliental friendly and chatty. Half way through our evening we were given plates and when we enquired as to why they replied ‘oh we’re giving free food out tonight’. You can imagine our glee and excitement, especially because we hadn’t had dinner! Dish after dish the food continued to come. Sure it wasn’t michelin star quality but give me a chicken nugget and a rib for free and I’m a happy woman. What can I say? Free live music, free food and good company. I left with a smile on my face and spring in my step! I will most definitely be back!

The pub has a great ambiance… much better than these chains popping up. It is a sports bar but you don’t get that impression. We stopped in for a quick drink. It turned out they were having a charity event with free food and great live music. The staff was incredibly friendly and eager to top up our drinks and bring around the food. A special shout out to Hubert! You were great. I’ll definitely return.

If you want a sports bar that is loud, dirty, serves bad food, then this is your place. Yes, it’s a sports bar, but calling it a pub is a stretch. Food was mostly deep fried and a very limited menu. Bathroom door remained open, giving a view of the throne to all seated in that area.

One of the best pubs in or outside of London. They have enough televisions to watch any sport you’d like but not so many that it becomes annoying. They have a great selection of cask and draught beers, and the staff is exceptionally friendly.

Does what it says on the lid. Great sports bar. With the decline of the Walkabout chain it’s become difficult for me to find a pub which reliably shows early morning Aussie sport, but not anymore. As an added bonus the food was a good level of pub grub, the bar staff were very friendly and being just off the tourist strip means that you only get other people keen to watch the game which adds to the atmosphere.

I haven’t been into this bar since it was an O’Neill’s a few years back. The bar is positioned away from the tourist end of convent garden which is a good thing if your trying to escape the crowds. However, i was here for the same reason as allot of other people on Saturday afternoon and that was. sports! This place was bustling and had tonne of TVs that seemed to cover all the major games in various nooks and crannies around the place. This definitely fits the sports bar category whilst still retaining most of its earlier Irish heritage from O’Neill’s. Service was good and they provided table service to allot of the patrons watching the various games.
