I have visited this store for the very same reason as Robin, for getting baby related gifts. If ever you need one the Ledbury Street is good for that purpose as there seems to be baby wear boutiques one after another. All with very upscale looks makes also very suitable for impressing parents. It would be hard to pick the favorite shop but I would say that Petit Aime wouldn’t make to my top three. The clothes are pretty and petite, but I am just slightly annoyed by the fact that everything is in French, like the books and cards. I do love the language but giving that as a present. rarely works. It just gives you a slight pretentious feeling. The shop itself is fun looking and colorful, with playful and cute interior.

Brought to you by the same people who run the boutique, Aime, next door, is a store dedicated to tots. This place is definitely for any mother/Francophile as all the labels they carry are appropriately French. They also carry a fabulous array of unique stuffed toys together with the most charming gifty trinkets(think playing cards and games) — also in French, so your babe can get a head start on being bilingual. The interior is completely white, almost stark, but it’s punctuated by the colourful clothes and other items — which creates a quaint feeling of cheerfulness — there is nothing pretentious-feeling about this place, there’s something too-casual about it for that. The women who run it are French and very lovely… more than willing to try and scout out a certain size for you in the back if they think they have it.

OK, so I’m not in baby-making mode yet, but I’m definitely in baby-gift buying mode — and Petit Aime has become my one-stop shop for getting precious kids’ clothes at less-than-obscene prices(goodbye Marie Chantal). Less-than-obscene is not cheap, but the clothes(lots of wonderful French labels) are beautiful and well-made. They also have a selection of toys and baby bath products and the girls who work there(also French) are really sweet.
