Had lunch here on numerous occasions. While the food is ok, it’s the location that really draws in the crowds. Mostly mums with their noisy kids in tow, or office workers looking for a quick lunch. The menu is littered with fried eggs, chips, sausages, all a bit greasy spoon –turns my stomach in such a serene setting. If you’re after a snack the cakes or sandwiches are probably a better call than the limited and average mains on offer. The occasional special might save the day, but usually aren’t worth the trouble. For a superior meal try the restaurant at Dulwich Picture Gallery.

If I could give this no stars I would! This café is in an ideal spot in Dulwich Park frequented by many of south Londons families and park lovers. However, this café while doing a good job at imitating a family friendly establishment are really the most family hating café I have ever been into. Half the café is not open to children(even tho most of the customers are families). The toys in the pathetic toy corner are old, broken and so filthy dirty they are completely unhygienic and pose a serious health risk. The menu is extremely limited, knows how to charge and isn’t very inclusive of children or babies. Most of all the staff are completely discourteous and often downright rude. We go to this park a lot and occasionally find ourselves needing to go the café and I regret it afterwards every time. Don’t go!

Dulwich Park is more beautifully well kept than any I have seen in London. Manicured flower beds, cleanly cut fields of grass and natural yet perfect ponds. And in the middle of all this is a lively, modern, light and airy café. This definitely would not be classified as your standard weak tea making park café. Instead food is organic, locally sourced, fresh, warm and homely with Rum Hot Chocolate, Pimms and Wine also on the menu. Home to the yummy mummys of Dulwich, weekends can be overwhelmingly packed and service is not always the fastest. But find the Pavilion café at its quieter moments and it is bliss.
