It’s a small and cute place, selling good quality pastries and tasty coffee. It’s inexpensive so it’s perfect. However to give 5 stars I need my small coffee in a hot cup, otherwise it’s not hot anymore when you drink it.

I recently moved to Shoreditch a couple minutes away from Paper & Cup and I completely felt for this adorable non for profit coffee shop. The staff is friendly, great selection of tea(and Chai soya Latte on the menu which is a must for me), good quality coffee and plenty of delicious sweet treats. They also sell second hand books, and other vintage goodies. Not pretentious at all, it’s really refreshing to have a spot like that in the area.

Very cute, cozy, and quiet. When I heard it was a coffee /bookshop, I did imagine something larger. Instead, it’s very quaint(to my American experience) with books serving more as decoration. It really has a good feeling about it though. I love the blue trim exterior and the row of benches and tables outside. Service was friendly and my flat white was good. I enjoyed sitting out front, listening to my headphones, and watching people go by. It’s a 2 minute walk around the corner from The Ace Hotel, so definitely worth a visit if you’ve already experienced their in-house coffee bar and want to try something new.

During my proprietary stay in London(more specifically Shoreditch), I came across this place while walking around like an aimless tourist. The place caught my attention because it seemed very«London,» whatever that means. It’s a very cute spot with best-in-class coffee and delectable little snacks. The place is also very reasonably priced and helps you prepare for the next«bear market.» The atmosphere makes you feel really comfortable. I felt so comfortable that I surreptitiously spread my ass cheeks on my chair to let out a silent fart out of my upper anus. The relatively high ceilings allowed my fart to have no smell whatsoever. I encourage anyone looking to get his or her day started to come to this proprietary spot. I love the name of the place too!

Paper & Cup is one of the reasons I take any opportunity to work or meet in Shoreditch. I was lucky to make this a regular stop on my way to the office for a couple of month — and I miss it already. It’s less trendy than the more serious establishments on Redchurch Street and has a lovely homely feel to it. It is also a lot less busy during the week, making it the perfect stop over for a take away coffee on the way to work. It’s also perfect for lunch if you fancy a quick sandwich in relaxed surroundings — and if you’re bored there’s plenty of books to choose from … Not sure if they are open on Sundays — they are not far from Columbia Road Market, hint, hint!

Coffee. Tea. Reading. Buying a plant. Eeeeh. «buying a plant»… Eeeh ok? Well why not! It’s all possible at Paper & Cup! Really good coffee and coffee to go? Check. Pastries, croissants, and cookies? Check. Different types of tea for you British Tea Lovin’ Folk? Check. Free WiFi? Check. Adorable little bay where you can sit, surrounded by books? Check. Terrace /sitting outside, catching some sunlight while reading a newspaper? Check. Quite random, but why not — can you buy a plant here? Check. Am I totally in love with this little store? Check, check, DOUBLECHECK!

NICE, NICE, NICE! Very nice soy lattes and fresh baked, crispy, buttery croissants that seem to sell out in minutes when they come out of the oven. It’s always good to have a regular coffee shop and even though Allpress and Nude are equally close to me, I’d pick Paper & Cups espresso over theirs anyday!

Shoreditch has a bit of a hard time waking up on weekend mornings, it would seem… En route to a 10am Saturday hair appointment, I figured I’d run into no less than 12 coffee options between my home and said hairdresser. Surprise to me – nothing was open! My usual spots were still poking the sleep from their eyes, and I was staring down a 2 hour appointment sans caffeine. It was sort of an emergency. Shoreditch tends to just get to bed at 8am, so I guess I can see why no one would be awake to serve coffee pre-10am — but really! I need some! And then, just as I was about to reach my final destination(With Sep — review to follow!), a sweet little chalkboard sign appears proclaiming«WEHAVEGREATCUPCAKES!.» With their doors flung wide open and the familiar sounds of espresso being slung, I knew I’d found a fix. Willing participants to the morning! Paper & Cup is a Not-for-profit(yes, you read right — you can feel good about that indulgence!) coffee and cakes shop that sells used books. Just off the main Kingsland Road/Shoreditch High Street drag, this sweet little shop is well outfitted, comfortable, and has everything you’ll need for a morning jolt or casual sit down with a cuppa. Calvert Street is very quiet and calm. My mocha was delightful, 2.70. I was very tempted by the«GREATCUPCAKES» — the red velvet being particularly inviting, but decided to return and get one on my next visit. Several outside tables for good weather, too. I shall return.

Hidden off the beaten path in Shoreditch, this pleasant little café offers a wide assortment of tea as well as proper espresso drinks. We sat outside on the sidewalk and people watched to our hearts content.
