I ordered a pizza delivery from here. Instead of delivering to my door, I got a phone call from the ‘delivery man’ saying he couldn’t find anywhere to park his moped so I’d have to go and find him in the street to collect my pizza. Not impressed. If I wanted to pick up, I would have gone to the store. When I complained to the store, my complaint was completely ignored.

When you’re hungry and it’s almost midnight, I admit there are limited options for food with most stores and pretty much all supermarkets closed. Thankfully for late night pizza delivery right? That’s what we thought too. I placed my order before midnight(the store was closing at 1am), paying with my credit card. Upon receiving the processing email that papa johns always sends, My friend and i waited for our pizza to come. And waited. An hour later, we were hungry, I had heard nothing, the charge had gone through on my card and I knew the store was closing at 1. I called at about 1:06am to no answer. I tried again at 1:15 and a guy answered. I explained the situation and gave my order number. He then claimed not to have received my order and told me to call customer service tomorrow. When I tried to explain, he dealt with it in the most mature possible fashion. He hung up on me. Yes, he hung up on me. I had been charged for pizza and pepsi that I had not received, we are sitting home starving when we could have been enjoying indian food that would actually sent me my order and instead I have to deal with this rudeness as if the situation wasn’t frustrating enough. I called back and no answer. It didn’t exactly surprise me. Way to raise the bar for customer service papa johns. I’ve contacted customer services and I know it takes time but it would be nice if they would at least reassure of my refund considering the situation where the fault lies so clearly with the company. To sum up, this is possibly the worst customer service I have ever received. Yes, you get angry when you’re hungry, but it’s the next day, we are not hungry anymore but we are both still angry.

This is American company, but their pizzas are more than fine. They got lots of deals both for take away/sitting(only a few chairs though) and of course delivery to your flat. It’s American food with American style deals with good service and lovely staff. Don’t expect for any super special gourmet meals, but you get what you pay for and even a little bit more. I’m not a huge pizza fan, but it was very nice with special US vibe.

I got a medium sized pizza for £1 on a voucher offer… so I wasn’t expecting too much… but seriously? The Hawaiian BBQ chicken I got was bland, bland bland!!! There were hardly any toppings(maybe 1 sliver of pineapple, chicken, and onion per slice) and you could barely taste the BBQ sauce. Tomato sauce seemed to be missing entirely and the dough was a little rubbery. I know I had a voucher, but vouchers tend to be an incentive to bring people back. Instead I will be staying very very far away from any PJ pizza’s in the future.

I love PJ. No really, the BBQ chicken pizza is what dreams are made of. I feel like papa himself has crawled into my brain and extracted all of my favorite things and put them on a crust. Now when I first moved here, I used to order online from the Hoxton location, but since this one opened, it won’t let me(well, because technically this is 2 blocks from me so yea yea yeah.)… but I really wish I could pick between the two because this location makes me cry into my garlic sauce. First of all, the hours on the website are wrong, so if you order online past a certain time, it won’t go through. Oh it’ll charge your credit card, and send you a confirmation email and you’ll be sitting by your phone waiting for the call saying«we’re waiting outside» but you will get nothing. Then you’ll have to wait 7 – 10 days for the charge to be reimbursed. The service at this one is lacking, but they do have a special where you can do 9.99 any pizza any size take out only. Ok, cool. Well, I went in and asked for the big size of a papa’s pepperoni plus(hey, it said any size), and the guy was like, you can get an XL. I was like, um, it says any size, can’t I get an XXL? «You can get an XL» Right. Of course I can. Even though I’ve been in the shop before when people have ordered XXL’s next to me and I thought, oh I don’t need one that big, I’ll just do a smaller one… Well, you know how I’m a fan of inconsistency… PAPACANYOUHEARME??? I want the Hoxton one back in my life, or at least the Hoxton workers to come to Farringdon! Make it happen!
