This is a breakfast café stalwart for lots of the offices around here: decent Italian coffee, traditional English breakfasts(not the largest, but perfectly OK), and friendly and quick service. They also do sandwiches and pasta to take away. It is phenomenally busy at lunchtimes.

This is a smile little place, but I liked it. We are there many days while in town for breakfast. The food is average and atmosphere plain, but there was just something about it we liked so kept returning.

There are a few restaurants around here that do some deli sandwiches and some microwaved pasta — Papa Bruno is one of them. Presumably it gets the majority of the trade from the Home Office opposite, but I work a little further away and have been known to make the trek over to here. The reason is that their risottos are really quite good — and they throw a crazy volume of freshly ground pepper on there if you want it(and I do!). Plus their deli sandwiches are quite specialised in that they have a wide variety of them involving chicken escalopes, such as one with mushrooms and a tomato sauce(not ketchup, that’s be gross), or another with sweet chilli sauce. You get the idea, but they have around ten different types of these sandwiches, all on ciabatta bread. There is room to eat in, but I’ve never done so because I usually grab a risotto or a pasta(their lasagne is good, it doesn’t look the right colour, but the taste is there). The place is generally busy around lunch time, so if you want a table easily then come early.
