Maybe I’m a masochist. After all, my choice of Yoga is Bikram, my favourite massage is Shiastu(I’ve heard rolfing is even more intensive but they don’t seem to do it in London it’s probably illegal) so it may come as no surprise that I’ve seen the odd personal trainer or two. To be fair they’re not that sadistic really; they’re kind of like having your mum nagging you to do things properly, rather than slacking off, or nipping around the corner for some chips. Enter On Top form personal training; a company run by Nerijus Simonavicius(try saying that after a few shandies), who definitely doesn’t look the type to dodge a few extra reps. A friend and I went for a battering sorry I mean training session; they typically last 45 mins to an hour depending on how many of you there are. You’ll get given tips to tweak the way you’re currently living(looking at food, stress, other lifestyle factors they have access to studios but they’ll also coax you outside to train off-road in parks and on hills if need be. If you’re the kind of person that prefers ‘chav fighting’ to real exercise, you might be best off catching an extra episode of Eastenders; but if you’re a workout purist that loves a more bespoke look at what you could be doing to look and feel better, paying these people a visit could be worth a shot. And round the corner from my house too! Handy.
