Went after a Fulham game. Hosts my favourite beers on tap like Paulauner! And by the steiner! The bratwurst sausage was good along with standard chips. A good place to hang in the evening if near especially if the oompa loompa band are playing!

We went on a quiet Wednesday evening, looking for maas and an oompah band. Instead there were several guys watching football, not the greatest atmosphere, especially when they turned the cheesy euro pop music off to listen to the football too. However, it was certainly an authentic experience from a food and drinks perspective. Paulaner, draft, served in a maas(litre glass) with a side of bratwurst, creamy mash and sour kraut. Although some tipsy calculations suggested that the beer was actually more expensive when purchased by the litre rather than the pint… those crazy Germans! Made me look forward to going back to München again.

I’m torn between three and four stars for this place… it’s really not that great inside, just a bunch of benches to sit at, and the food is mediocre, but it can be a lot of fun if you’re in the right mood. They have great German beer on tap, and even more of it in bottles(quite a selection actually) and a very friendly staff. We went on a Friday night, which comes with an appearance by a live German band that highly encourages audience participation. So go and be willing to learn some German songs, sway back and forth to the music linking arms with the people to either side of you, and drink from your 1 liter tankard of beer!

Do not go to this place if what you want is some typical German grub, or delicious German sausages. Do only go to this place if you want to seat on an empty, sad and dark place with a tv playing sports on the background while you are being served hot dogs that could have been done by anyone and with no particularly good sausages either. I always like trying to find the positives about a place to give a balanced view, however the only good thing about having gone to this place is that I know not to try it again.

Went here last night to watch Germany defeat Turkey in the euro 2008. £5 cover charge which i found a bit steep, but all in all, the staff were very friendly and effecient, although the lederhosens i saw could do with a launder! Good spirited crowd of Germans for the match, although I’m not sure how it would compare with any other night at ‘The Fest’. They have £91L steins of Paulaner beer, and if you are after a snack, there are pretzels a-plenty, dried wurst, and a £5 pint and snack-size pie deal. The hot bratwurst and sauerkraut is good also. Not sure why so many pubs in London are left to fall apart. Refurbs are always a good idea to revive a tired looking interior! I definitely wouldn’t come here for a regular social night, but it is great for watching sports in good company.
