This market is brilliant! The fruit and vegetables are very fresh, super affordable and keep for quite a while. The only downside to the market is that it’s usually very crowded and it can take a while to actually get your items, but it’s totally worth it. There’s also a wholesale butcher shop and a fresh seafood shop along the road, so you can get all your main items in one trip.

Good vegetables, fruits, meat and sea foods. Cheap price, friendly sellers, and vivid atmosphere. We go to this market almost once every week.

Although I don’t live that far from this market, I usually avoid it like the plague because it’s generally so packed. Today, being a nice yet chilly autumn day, I decided to brave the crowds and had a fantastic experience. The produce here is amazing and incredibly affordable. For 1 pound you can get a large bowl of just about any fruit of veggie that you can think of. And they’re not banged up or look like something that’s fallen off of a truck. It’s good quality stuff. There were also some vendors out selling Christmas cards and décor as well as some electronic vendors. But for me, the best thing about the market is the produce. I don’t think I’ll be able to buy it from a supermarket again.

If you can push your way between the yuppies gabbing on their mobile phones and the old women pushing their trollies, what you’ll find on the North End Road Market is an authentic slice of city-living. Sure, you have to sift your way past the stands that only sell mouthwash and mobile phone chargers to get to the stands of fresh produce at half the price of the Sainsbury’s down the road, but it’s worth it. And the mish-mash of people you’ll encounter along the road really is a slice of London, making it great people watching. I’m spoiled to have this literally on my doorstep 6 days a week, and I don’t take advantage of it nearly often enough. It’s not gourmet like Borough Market, and it’s not tourist-approved like Portobello Road, but it’s pretty respectable for what it is.

On the east side of the North End Road this market is pretty great — open Monday to Sunday it’s been going since the turn of the century — not this one, the last one obviously. It’s got loads of fruit and veg at the beginning and is substantially cheaper than the nearby supermarkets. They also do clothes and there are little electric stalls where they unblock mobiles and that sort of thing. Especially good if you are using a stolen one. It’s especially nice that somewhere like this continues in Fulham, so much in this area has pushed out all the memories of the old place, how things were and fortunately the market does seem to have a good place in the future of the area. It’s busy, well stoked and open air freshness.
