No Name Italian Deli

Looks like your average sandwich filling shop but they have amazing falafel in pita with hummus and salad for 3 quid, or an awesome Greek salad box for 4 pounds. Staff are super friendly, too.

If you’re out and about in Old Street and or work in the area, there’s an awesome little deli just in Old Street Station, across the way from Nincomsoup. Apparently they were there before, but have recently renovated — look for the red shop surround — with a handful of tables inside. From the looks of it on the outside, it’s just like every little deli imaginable, sandwich fillings in little white bowls and a menu the size of Russia daunts. However, this place sells absolutely amazing salads, and wait for it, freshly made pasta. Yes, not pasta that’d been made early that morning and sitting in a vat being warmed by boiling water, no. Freshly made as and when you order it!
My favorite is the Amatriciana, which probably isn’t authentically Italian, but has an absolutely amazing flavor with onions and bacon in a tomato based sauce and penne pasta that is almost always perfectly al dente. This place has taken our office by storm and people now go there in the droves to bring fresh pasta back into the office.
