Just wow. I’m in my thirties now, and the posh afternoon tea has become the go to ‘thing to do’ with the girls for any birthday or special occasion. But my very lovely friend took me to Tartufo in 11 Cadogen Gardens, Chelsea for Alexis Gautier’s Winter Flowers afternoon tea, and it blew my tiny mind. Personally, I’d never heard of the place. The hotel is tucked away in a residential street like any other in Chelsea, and is easy to miss. But step inside, step back in time, and be spoilt rotten. Our waiter Kevin was so fun and friendly, as well as super intelligent. We absolutely loved him. We were given pots of dried teas to smell before making a choice, and it just kept coming. All crockery and glassware was absolutely beautiful, as well as the fancypants lounge where we were seated. The sandwiches(particularly the mini croque Madame with quails egg) were amazingly delicious, the cakes were incredible and the scones melted in your mouth. We treated ourselves to some cocktails too which were stunning. Words just can’t do this place justice, take a look at the photos… The pairing of edible flowers with the cakes and drinks was impeccably done, and I have really never had such a delicious or beautifully presented afternoon tea in my life. I can’t recommend this place more, go!

This was a rare gem we came across in London offering a traditional elegant English experience. Hotel staff was superb and accommodating. We were very satisfied with the room and overall experience. The breakfast downstairs in the restaurant was the best breakfast we had in our two weeks traveling London. We hope to stay here again!

This hotel is a time warp — I halfway expect to see Charles Dickens come down the creaky, wood-paneled staircase. The area(Cadogan Gardens) is residential, so it’s very quiet. It is also just a few blocks away from Sloane Square(a tube stop). The service here is just as good as any five star hotel and at half the price. Definitely consider this hotel in your travel plans!

A traditional English hotel that functions like an exclusive ‘home away from home’ overlooking Cadogan Gardens. We try to put clients up here if we can because it feels like a relaxed, stately home but has all the ammenities that one would expect from a modern hotel such as the Sanderson or the St Martins Lane Hotel. The rooms are sumptuous, the bar and restaurant are very glamorous and the concierge service is one of the best we have used in London. Single rooms start around the £100 mark, but doubles go for around £200.
