This is such a great option for weekend brunch. I brought a group of around 16 for my birthday(my third visit here) and they accommodated us smoothly with worry free service. We were seat hopping a bit and no one batted an eyelid or stressed out. Highlights from the set menu were the fishcake and the steak — I’d recommend they add another vegetarian option, but I didn’t ask when I made the reservation, maybe they could have accommodated that considering they did get some gluten free bread in for the coeliac in the group. They’re not stingy with the bottomless Prosecco and the red wine I’m told was also lovely. The terrace out back is also a good option for afternoon/after work drinks.

This restaurant is definitely not one to be missed. It is a formal restaurant in the city that caters for all meat lovers! The steaks are incredible, and the staff are very very good. They have a fantastic set menu for £23.50 and the steak is to die for! I can’t keep away from this new find!

We tried this restaurant out on an Evening Standard deal. The reception service was badly managed. I arrived first and went and sat at our table, and my friend arrived after me but was told I had not arrived yet, and to wait in the bar! After that mix up, the service was a little slow at first, but then once under way, the service was friendly and helpful. We both chose the slow cooked duck leg with braised lentil and celeriac from the set menu. When it arrived the waiter then asked if we wanted anything with it. So we ordered some chips to go with it, which was really, really tasty. For dessert we had the cranberry and almond tart with vanilla ice cream. Between the mains and the dessert, they gave us some petit fours, which was a nice touch. The set menu at £20 for two course with a glass of wine or mocktail, was a nice midweek treat! The chips and coffee was extra. We did notice the majority of the diners in our part of the restaurant were all having the set menu, so the restaurant would have been empty if it was not for the deal! All in all, the meal was nice and pleasant. The ambiance of the restaurant was also very nice too. At the back of the restaurant was a bar and courtyard, which looked like a nice place to go for a drink after work in the CIty.

From my experience, usually when a restaurant provides a fixed menu for company dinners, the quality is not necessarily the best. This one was what I felt below average – my halibut was much smaller than the mediocre steaks(as my team members mentioned) and the waiter incorrectly described how the crab was prepared on my dish(unsettling mystery dark orange crab purée as opposed to crab being placed under the halibut). There were definite gaps in services from the water bottles not being filled to the waiter forgetting who he already taken orders from. He didn’t seem to be all there. Service was very slow.

You know your friend that just tries too hard to be hip and cool. That is new street grill. Music, lighting, veranda and cave bar all good independently but they are thrown together with an over ambitious menu, an aloof wait staff and overpriced everything. We had a large party and service was slow, food was ok and not great with some served a bit cold and the risotto too al dente. With some many great places in London… I would pass this one by and hit just about anywhere else.

One of the better steaks I’ve had in London — cooked perfectly. The starters and wine were very good as well. Definitely a bit pricey though. I also went when the air con was broken — thankfully there was one table left outside as indoors was unbearably hot and stuffy. Atmosphere is fairly standard and bland, but its a good place for work dinners.

We visited last Thursday night with a group of about 15 people. Despite the great company, the experience was not pleasant and the food unremarkable despite the very expensive price tag. A few key issues: 1. The air conditioning was broken and the windows of the restaurant could not be opened. The temperature inside the restaurant was over 30 C and the fans did not help. 2. The service was terribly slow. 3. The service was rude. A few server quotes to give you a sense: — «There is a lot of you so all steaks will be coming out medium.»(announced unprompted about 20 minutes after we had ordered) — «Can I have a glass of water? It is really hot in here.» «No, the service has closed for the evening»(said at 11:20pm) In all I got the impression that this restaurant is run by an entitled and rude crowd. Stay away!

Ordered: Steak — I think fillet or T bone for me Price: Don’t remember — didn’t pay… but around £50 per head I would imagine Review: Wow — what a steak, their onion rings were so big and soooo good. The Bernaise sauce(my fav) was pretty good too! The steak itself — impressive!!! The waiters were very receptive, and the décor — just right! Come here for a nice meal with someone you know for a long time. you know that feeling…

We came here for a Sunday roast and we both opted for the 2 course menu for £23.95 each. We quickly spotted the unlimited prosecco for £10 each, so we decided to go for that too! It is nice to be able to have a lazy lunch while sipping on prosecco throughout. Everyone we met there was friendly and enthusiastic to help. We had a warm welcome at the entrance, although for a second I thought they were closed because I had trouble opening the door! The waiter was ready to answer any questions we had about the menu. There was something lacking about the atmosphere, though. Perhaps it was late in the afternoon and most people had already had their Sunday lunch. Half of the room was full, but it felt a bit quiet. I could imagine this place having a great atmosphere with all the rooms full on a Friday night. The meals were good, but not amazing. My highlight was the yorkshire pudding — good size and soaked up the gravy well! My wife enjoyed her starter of ham and fresh figs, but it came with wilted parsley which she just moved to the side. The bread that we had at the start seemed like it must have been out for a few hours. I think their strength may be steaks, so it may be worth a try another time for that. But, the Sunday roast experience was average.
