I have not lived in London for many years and so rely on my fellow Londoners Unilocal evals for guidance. I decided on New Frames on this basis and was not disappointed. It’s a thriving busy little area of London right at the junction of Carnaby St. With Beak Str., W1. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable! I must say that Susannah who helped me first has a great sense of what mounting, type of frame mught be suitable and we would put a corner together and then I had to use a telescopic technique to imagine it on my wall. I never knew so much went into picture framing but it sure is worth the while to take the time and trouble! The results were outstanding and well worth the cost which in my opinion was not unreasonable considering one is hugely unlikely to repeat the same process with the same picture again. Then I had to deal with Lyndon who is an absolutely wonderful calm reassuring presence! He mad sure everything was correct including the length of the hanging wire to the bill. There was nothing too much for him and I just felt really well taken care of! It’s a busy little shop but they have an excellent array of choices and the staff are very helpful and patient even when there is a mad rush all around! Have fun Londonites!

I’ve now had 3 different prints framed at New Frames. Each time, I was impressed with the service, the quality of the frames, and timeliness of the framing. The sales staff are quite helpful/patience as they walk through the various framing options. It was great to see that there was a exhaustive collection of frames and matte boards. However, I still don’t get why they have so many types of glass. true view, clear colour, seriously what’s the difference between them? I wound up going with the middle of the road options for glass, and remain happy with my decision. Each time I was promised the frames within a week, and they were available for pick-up earlier. I thought the frames were rather expensive, but I understand that custom framing usually is pricey. All in, New Frames is my go to place for bespoke framing in central London.

New frames is a wonderful little shop which makes bespoke picture frames as well as books and creative style greeting cards and wrapping paper. They also sell a range of contemporary art pieces. The shop is very cute and has an amazing range of arty bits and pieces. The bespoke photo frames are beautiful and can be made out of wood or aluminium. These would make fantastic gifts. The greeting cards are lovely and make a nice traditional change to the run of the mill chain store types. Definitely a lovely place to go for some gift inspiration. It is just a shame that the shop is only open during the week which would make it very inaccessible to most.
