On balance pretty tasty. Some dishes were spot on — exactly as I’ve had them in different parts of China. Some dishes were slight modern interpretations, which is fair enough. A few were pretty far off the mark and disappointing as they’re standard dishes. But in any event, still better than 97% of Chinese restaurants in London(I’m happy iwth that 97% number). It’s also on the pricey side(although not at the stupid levels of Bar Shu), but a price well worth paying for good food not dreck. We’re definitely going back.

The New China Club, the restaurant Snazz Sichuanese serves very good Sichuanese food. Some people maybe find it too oily. When I order Sichuanese food. I always order«Shui Zhu Ruo Pian» Which is sliced pork in a hot sauce(soup like). The spices came out pretty nicely. Not too mild and not too hot. I had the Ma Po To Fu, Dan Dan Mian. Sichuanese spices is more about numbing effect than burning sensation. I would love to explore more of their menu. They have exotic dishes such as pig tongue, lungs, intestines. Because of the camaraderie the service was great. For members, you get seated at the private dining area. Yes, they do have hotpot!

An unexpected little delight of a restaurant. This is miles away from being the sort of chinese you are used to, but also not in the mind-crushingly expensive land of Hakkasan either. Be prepared to take a dip into the unknown when ordering from a spicy Si Chaun style menu. My visit with a couple of friends consisted of a dip into the following– hot-and-numbing soup, fish-fragrant pork slivers, and Ggong Po chicken with peanuts amongst others. Also on the menu is fire-exploded beef tripe which certainly sounds intriguing although we’d ordered quite enough before getting there. It is a feast of chillis here — that’s the cooking style and a little care needs to be taken if you are not a fan of the very spicy, but the chilli husks are obvious and it’s more about the style of cooking. The boiled fish drowning in a sea of chillis was a sight to behold and a delight to eat as well. It was quiet when we visited but that was a Monday. The staff were very nice and happily did a doggy bag for one of the party. Nice atmosphere, fun place and a great dining experience for about 20 quid ahead with drinks. Get yourself up to Euston and find yourself a little hidden gem.
