I have been here several times because I live around the corner. This is a very good curry house. fresh food, tasty curries, friendly staff. Why go anywhere else? And they deliver!

The food here is decent and the service is pretty good. If you live in the area and like Indian food then I would recommend it. It’s not fantastic and I have had better curries in London. However it is far from the worst I have tried. Living close by I have frequented and not been disappointed. It is standard Indian fare. They have an abunance of choice, the grub is decent and you can wash down with a Cobra or two. I find that they tend to cook with a bit too much oil and the food can be a bit greasy(or greasier than it should be). I grew up in South Yorkshire, where there are a lot of good Indian places. I regularly visit one’s better than Nazmin’s when I travel up North and hence me only giving 3 stars. Decent Indian grub, without beng spectacular. Worth a try if you live close by, but I would not recommend travelling too far for.

OK… Firstly let me tell you that I work in the restaurant industry and have done for many years so I think I am pretty objective as I know what goes on and what does not… I really wanted to like Nazmins as it is my local Indian having just moved to the area and decided to pop in late for a bite by myself… the place was packed and I was fortunate to be squeezed in. the servers worked fast to reset a table for me. so far so good… I was placed in an overspill room and in front of my vision was an accolade for best restaurant in the south(spice awards)… wow I am in for a treat. you know how us brits love our Indian food… the waiter came over a little flustered and beaded with perspiration and was obviously very busy. he promptly took my drink order and I also ordered some spicy poppadoms which were good albeit ready made… still all ok so far… my experience started to change when the owner or manager came over to the table besides me and started talking with them about how one of his staff was no longer with them… because he had gone to join the Taliban which he thought was hilarious… I understand that some people might not be offended especially the table he was talking to as they were obviously regulars but… I am an ex Grenadier Guard and have spent time in the middle east and have known people whom have lost their lives in Afghanistan so I was very disturbed by this comment… trying to put it in context I decided to bite my tongue and give him the benefit of the doubt… anyway I drew my attention to the TV as there was music and dancing on… a nice distraction methinks… not… the music was a blend of house and Bollywood which without the tv could have been ok but the videos were these chubby guys and girls all slapping each others asses and thrusting their parts at everything that moved they even did the tacky ass whip move as if a girl were in front and they were riding her like a donkey. tacky and gross… my food arrives… pashwari naan, pilau rice, lamb rogan josh. which the waiter put his thumb all over the naan by the way and having noticed the same guy carrying glasses with his fingers deep inside did not give me any confidence to eat that side of the bread… no matter as the bread was cloying from the over sweet flavour it had… overkill with the coconut fruit and sugars. the rice was standard at best and the curry came out lukewarm and was bland… its the first time in my life that I have eaten Indian food that did not have enough seasoning and the spice was barely noticable… needless to say I left most of everything… not once was I questioned about my lack of appetite… in general the place had an air of attitude about it and the servers were a bit aggressive, probably because the owner is aggressive and thinks he is cool… on another visit to the next table he gloated how he had fired a driver for running out of petrol for his delivery bike and said he can fire anyone in an instant because not only can he do it all he can do it better than everyone else what a w****r. no wonder the staff are the way they are if that is how they are treated… I read another review where a customer was asking about his appetisers which had not arrived for 30 minutes and they physically threw the old guy out and I totally believe it now… I will never return and as a restaurant person myself I completely understand how places work and believe me this place should be avoided at all costs. there are plenty of friendly establishments out there that serve better food and treat you with respect… I can only hope after this review the guy that joined the Taliban does not hunt me down and try to kill me.

I went with friends and trusted their recommendations. I was a bit shocked when they ordered nine items for the four of us, but soon realized that this was«small plates» style — I would liken to «Indian Tapas.» It all arrived in those little silver bowls and the feast began. Not a one of those nine was even close to being mediocre. We had great fun recommending combos of bites to each other(try the pumpkin with the chicken tikka! Try the daal with the okra!). All scrumptious. It’s off the beaten path, but fairly easy to get to considering London’s amazing trans options. Something to note for US Indian food peeps: the Saag Paneer is made with coconut milk — sweeter than anything I’ve had in the US. I loved it, and was told by my pals this sweet style is common in the UK. Wine selection was small but adequate and well chosen. Prices were very reasonable for the excellent quality(we all had wine, beer or cocktails and ate our fill for 20 quid per person). Service was EXCEPTIONAL. Three men attended to us and never missed a beat. My UK friends tell me that of all their Indian food adventures, they feel Nazmin’s is the finest specimen of British Indian they’ve had. My dining adventures in the UK are more limited, but I’ve had loads of Indian in my time and feel very confident in recommending this as a dining experience that will NOT disappoint!
