Usually a Nandos would get 5* all round from me, but this one has proved disappointing. We went once for a sit in meal and had to wait over half an hour for our food to arrive. The food was good when it finally came, but the wait put a downer on the whole experience. We used it again for take away last week, again the wait was painful! We placed the order 25 minutes before collecting and were told it would be ready when we arrived. When we got there it was clear they hadn’t even started cooking it! After a further 20 minute wait we finally left with the food, which again was nice but overshadowed by the bad service. Boooooo.

Excellent as always! Our old favourite for any occasion; always service with a smile, good consistent food and a nice atmosphere. One of us loves the chicken wings to be burnt and they are good at meeting this request, Peri Peri chips are a must. We go there so often that we have lots of Nandos rewards saved up, so make sure you grab yourselves a card to get those freebies! Tonight all of our chicken wings were free! :-)

Nandoooooooooooooooooooooo’s! Yes, every time I walk by that delectable place, I say it like a child who can’t close their mouth due to anticipation. NANDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO’S! Oh the flavour… the moisty-ness of your chicken! The GIANT bottle of Peri-Peri hot sauce and the bottomless flow of soft drinks… and most of all… the delightful sting of peri-peri seasoning on top of your deliciously fried chips. So good. Good service, although most of it is self-serve. Could do with being a bit cleaner though. British-English Dictionary for my fellow Americans: chips are the same as fries. Crisps are the same as chips. To be honest, it does make more sense…

In my opinion, Nando’s is the best fast food restaurant in London. It’s also very healthy here with the salad option.

I LOVENANDO’S, this is one of my favorite places when I get back to my High School stomping grounds here in Wimbledon. I love how Nando’s has a good selection of chicken and sauces from mild to extra hot, you cant go wrong with this place. I usually order chicken burger with cheese and a side order of grilled corn. Also if you’re in a group a good thing to get is the Family Meal, that comes with a whole chicken, 2 large sides that was enough to feed like 4 people. Don’t forget to try the coleslaw too that is soooo yummy! I really wish that they could bring Nando’s to Southern California, but for now I’m just going to have to make do with their cooking sauces that you can get in Albertsons, its pretty tasty be sure to try the Peach marinade.

Blimey! These Nandos chickens have been doing a good impression of rabbits and have been breeding like mad. Over 70 Nandos restaurants are listed on Unilocal in and around the London area alone. The chain has blossomed thanks to a simple formula and fixed menu with easy cooking, limited staff service required and pitching itself as slightly more upmarket than regular fast food joints but keeping prices relatively low for a meal out. The main attraction is the chicken, which is offered at 4 ‘heat settings’, ranging from no heat at all lemon and herb all the way to ‘don’t be stupid’. Being from Malaysia, I am used to chilli heat in my food and even the 2 chilli setting was making my eyes water. I have a new respect for the Portugese ability to eat hot food after visiting Nandos and getting a flavour of their peri peri sauce here. There are a few starters on the menu. Main courses are built around the chicken — pieces, burgers, liver with a choice of sides, that are generally filling but nothing special. The sweetcorn is disappointing and often undercooked to point of being unpleasant to chew through. The desserts look pre-made at a central site. You grab a table, note the number of the table and order at the till. The food then delivered to the table. Cutlery, serviettes and sauces are all self-service as are the soda drinks if you opt for those. I’m only awarding 3 stars as I find the chicken pieces not very generous in size, the sides and desserts being disappointing and the fact that my feet usually take me to the KFC nearby instead.

Nando’s is one of my favourite restaurant chains, which in fact originated from my small home town in South Africa, Benoni. Nice one! I’m glad to report that I’ve been eating Nando’s for as long as I can remember, and the peri peri specialities of Nando’s in the UK tastes exactly the same. Not bad when you consider the distance all those poor chickens had to travel to get to Wimbledon! I recommend a Mango and lime, lemon and herb, or peri peri half chicken with rice or chips, garnished with a plate of their garlic and olives. Bottomless soft drinks are a nice addition too. If you’re looking for food that doesn’t try make out like it’s anything it’s not, then Nando’s is a good choice. Nando’s is also proof that when you have a really good idea, executing that idea all over the world is really made much easier.
