Great food and really chill out atmosphere! Music not so audible but we didn’t care so much as is perfect to have a conversation. Service is good. Relatively cheap. Recommend!

Best pancakes ever. Go on Mondays because they have their Monday Madness deal where sweet and some savory pancakes are only 5 pounds. The pancakes are huge and if you think you can eat more than one, lol good luck buddy.

I first came here 20 years ago and have been back dozens of times since. The last time was a couple of years ago and it’s really changed. The cosy bar area for beers and bitte/kaasboller is gone. The menu is bigger and more kid-friendly(? good or bad depending on your point of view). The fruit beers are still available –phew. The biggest change is in the pancakes. Granted it was Monday and all pancakes are £5, but the food was inedible. The pancake was no longer, thin, silky and crisp at the edges. It was like eating a flat, undercooked Yorkshire pudding. The bacon was fatty, it was drowned in cheese(not even melted) and was a thick bright yellow disc of rubber. The one star is for the peanut milkshake and our poor server who was upbeat and helpful despite everything. RIP My Old Dutch :0(

It was ok. The service is pretty good but not fantastic, and as someone who prefers fluffy pancakes, I didn’t love the food. If you’re into crepes, a wide selection and huge portions you will love this place. I went on a Monday when most of their pancakes are £5 so it was well worth it. I’m glad I tried it, but I’m still searching for a favorite pancake house.

Great pancakes, but a very noisy environment. The pancakes are huge but delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend and come back to this restaurant.

The portions are big. No, huge. Not expensive for the portions. The interior is very cute. The service is GREAT with great smiles and attentive service. The pancakes aren’t too delicious(we got a savory and sweet pair) but good for the price.

Decided to go here for pancake day last year so knew it would be crazy busy and they don’t take booking on that day because of it. Tbh we didn’t queue for that long! And were seated and served quickly but not rushed Inside the décor is a bit crap but bright and clean Menu is massive with some different filling! Bf and I shared a savoury crêpe — Mexican one with chilli, guac and sour cream and nachos on the side. It was actually really tasty and went so I would be brave enough to go for something else savoury next time as well we both got American pancakes with different sugary sweet toppings for pudding, chocolate fruit etc and they were tasty but not amazing The price is really the draw back along with a pancake is a pancake! Nothing special but fun and good for the occasion Won’t go any other time of the year Would like to go back another shrove Tuesday and sample some more of their savoury combos however at £10 a pancake it is a bit much! Fun and would recommend!

HUGEHUGEHUGE portions, but a little slim on the toppings for certain pancakes. I went with some friends and we ordered 2 salad and 2 pancakes. the 2 salads were fantastic(greek, and spinach and avocado). The fiorentina(egg and spinach) was very nicely balanced, but my italian was rather more just cheese and not much else. Still, it was tasty. Could have done with a few more slices of tomato or olives. We couldn’t finish all the food, and was very promptly offered to take the leftovers away. Fantastic service.

I quite torn in how to review this so I’ll break it down. Atmosphere Good: reminds me of a Canadian breakfast place called Coras… Its quite a pseudo dutch feel. Bad: it’s a bit cheap, it is what it is, it’s dimly lit inside. Middle: get a window seat for lighting. Food Good: depends what you order and whose working. The first item… The I believer amsterdammer was nice. My friend had it. It was warm through, cooked, moist. Nothing amazing except the size. Bad: my gluten free was a disaster. It was under cooked. I was later informed they’d milk free too… Whixh is good but I didn’t ask for that. Also the chicken was over cooked Good… The manager was good, he asked me what was wrong, I as politely as I could after eating only half informed him of my dry under cooked pancake… I felt bad… He took it on-board, and then said we could have a free pancake. so we had desert pancake to order(which did have milk in the gluten free mix) and it was really really really good. But you can’t go wrong with chocolate banana strawberry and cream. Summary Brilliant manager… But had that vibe of the staff might be a little underpaid and don’t care… Or the staff don’t really talk to each other. I like. turning around and seeing the staff have a sneaky chat with a smile. Noone was happy. The food when loved was good… But inconsistent. The manager saved it really I was close to 1star but u do love good service and ability to change things about. That second pancake was good.

Came here for dessert and really enjoyed it. Had banana, nuts and Nutella pancake. Really enjoyed it but the portion was huge. The service was great and didn’t have to wait around to be served or anything, very efficient service. Would come back if I was in the area.

I’m in love with pancakes so this place was amazing for me! This place has pancakes of all kinds, from savory to sweet. The Monday deal was sweet– £5 for almost all of the pancakes on the menu. I ordered the berry pancake and added bananas to it. When the pancake came, I was in shock to see how huge it was– it was almost the size of a small puppy or something: x not that I didn’t enjoy the huge portions or anything… The sweets lover in me still ate the whole thing LOL. The pancake was delicious, it had blackberries, strawberries and raspberries in it. It filled me up, but I only wish I had enough room in my stomach to try a savory crêpe. The restaurant itself is very big, staff was friendly and service was quick. Definitely one of the most unique and satisfying dessert places I’ve been to in London!

I absolutely love the pancakes a this place!!! They weren’t what I initially expected(I thought they would be american style pancakes) but wow they were awesome. They’re huge and you feel like you’ll never finish but then its delicious so you just push yourself finish it all :) I had a taste of their savoury pancake too, and it was really nice though it’s not something I would normally eat because I’m used to sweet pancakes. The shakes are also terrific like the vanilla one. Very simple and not too sweet. I highly recommend this space for a fairly inexpensive breakfast. Oh and students get 10% off so bring ID cards!

I’ve been here several times recently, because the pancakes are tasty and good value. If you go on a Monday, the majority of the pancakes are £5. Be warned, one pancake is *definitely* enough! I’ve seen too many people think they want a savoury one, then a sweet one. Guys. You can’t handle it. If anything, the pancakes can be a bit too much(the four cheese became a grim marathon), but I appreciate going somewhere in central London and getting two meals for a tenner! On Mondays I don’t think you can book but I went with a group of 9 and they got us a table quickly as the downstairs is massive. When it isn’t a Monday, prices are reasonable considering the size of the meal(about £7 to £11). The poffertjes are also definitely worth a shout if you aren’t battered out! There are a few reasons it doesn’t get a higher rating. Firstly, as a cheap eatery, it does feel a little bit rough around the edges(nothing like the beautiful pannekoeken huis I went to when I lived in The Netherlands). Service can be slow and gets things wrong. One time I asked for a pancake without spinach — when it came with the spinach, I sent it back, then when it came back, it was obviously the same pancake with the spinach taken off as the pancake itself had spinach integrated in the batter. I didn’t bother returning it a second time but it was frustrating that it was wrong twice. The less said about the toilets, the faster the memories will be exorcised.

Première fois que je teste My Old Dutch. Les crêpes sont énormes et la pâte est réussie, mais après une salée, il n’y a plus de place pour le dessert… La prochaine fois, j’y retournerai seulement pour le sucré… J’ai vu des assiettes passer… Ma ma mia…

I was invited to My Old Dutch by a friend for his birthday meal, there were 20 of us and they were able to accommodate us with a large table downstairs. The service was quick and the range of toppings meant there was something for everyone. Plus the pricing is very cheap. I had the eggs florentine pancake. It was quite nice, fresh spinach and red onion. Plus 2 runny eggs. The portions are huge! And I barely ate half of it, as you can see from my picture. I don’t think it helped that I had a gluten free pancake which seemed much thicker than my friends. Great that they do gluten free though. I was really put off by the toilets in this restaurant. They smelt bad, weren’t clean and had no working hand dryers. Hopefully the other restaurants in this chain are better maintained as I would like to go back and try some sweet pancakes!

I made an unplanned stop at my old Dutch to pick up a takeaway pancake for lunch as the chicken shop restaurant opposite at the Hoxton hotel was closed from Christmas until the new year. The place was busy, it happened to be a Monday so most people were having a cheap lunch where a selection of pancakes are £5 both dine in and for takeaway. I opted for the ‘my old Dutch’ pancake consisting of ham, cheese, pepper and some other unmemorable fillings. The pancake was stodgy, bland and rather burnt. For takeaway no sauces were provided, only a sachet of salt to add a bit of taste. Needless to say I shall not be returning to my old Dutch, the pancake was a complete disappointment I would rather grab a sandwich for lunch than another pancake from this place and that is coming from one who dislikes eating dull sandwiches for lunch!

My Old Dutch is a guilty pleasure of mine every time I’m back in London. Essentially it’s all savoury or sweet giant pancakes(if you’re American this means giant crepes). It’s like Shrove Tuesday but ginormouser. So you’ve got that it’s massive pancakes? Now just add deliciousness like bacon, smoked salmon, or even motto on lamb. I personally like cinnamon apple with bacon and maple syrup. Wash down with coffee and OJ. PS this is a small chain with two other London locations.

Simply my favourite restaurant, My Old Dutch delivers from every angle. Ever since I first tried this restaurant almost 10 years ago(at which point it was already a winning formula), I have seen this restaurant evolve over the years to even greater heights. The menu has expanded to offer more recommended recipes and sides, they allow you to custom order the toppings for your pancake, they continue to offer good discounts such as the Monday Madness(£5 per pancake), the variety of drinks(including fruit beers and milkshakes) are also fantastic and they can now cook gluten-free pancakes! Both the savoury and sweet pancakes are a delight and in good-sized portions, the atmosphere has always been good with cheerful service, homely Dutch decoration and well spaced out tables and ceilings so that it feels humble, open and welcoming. The combination of Belgian fruit beers or silky-smooth milkshakes together with the uniformly large pancakes are perfect for anyone with an appetite and particularly anyone with a sweet tooth. P. S. I have also used the Kensington branch which provides the same good all-round quality standards. P.P.S take away is nicely packaged and just as delicious

Great place if you’re in Holborn and want pancakes. The location is great — close to Holborn station and not a very far walk from Oxford Street or the Bloomsbury campuses(if you’re a student like me). I’ve come here a couple times to try different flavours because they have such a huge menu! If you are looking for American style fluffy pancakes then get the Butterscotch ones. They come in five regular sized stacked pancakes, topped with powered sugar and whatever topping you chose. The chocolate chip pancakes I ordered were super sweet and very filling! The other pancakes are more similar to a crêpe, thin and easily folded. They are seriously gigantic and you need to be very hungry to finish the whole thing! But a bonus to these is the lovely dutch painted plate they serve it on :) Service was fine, nothing spectacular but not too bad. The pancakes are definitely the main reason I come here, so many options and delicious every time!

Nettes Restaurant, gut besucht.
