I am not surprised to find myself to share following opinion with previous reviewers … RUDESTAFF!!! When I lived in London about 20 years ago, this shop was one of my favourites in terms of the records you could find there. However, the staff were exceptionally rude and arrogant. On a revisit yesterday after many years being overseas, I found the same rudeness and arrogance after all these years! Different staff, same attitude! The owner must make a specific point of recruiting people with these qualities, I don’t know. London records shops for me have always had a problem with arrogant staff with a few notable exceptions(such as Rough Trade) but this was probably always the worst. I assumed those days had gone as more records shops focus on a good customer service to stay in business. MVE we can do without. I left the shop without buying anything and won’t bother returning again. Besides, many records looked quite overpriced.

Books for a pound! and sometimes they’re marked less! The only problem is that the books have specific order, so don’t go in thinking you’ll find a certain books. Just take the time to browse and bask in used books, I love the way you can see what they’ve been through. From literally ceiling to floor there are either Cds, vinyls or books. There is even a wall with flyer for anyone who wants music lessons, be in a documentary?, or general music information. I saw cello, guitar, piano and even an african instrument lesson! Truly a divine place.

Oh my days. My favourite ever shop in London. Visit. It’s so good. Go now. Why? Well they sell a lot of CDs and records. What does this mean? Ok the selection of records isn’t as vast as gargantuan as other vinyl-only shops. But it’s a very mean selection. And not a lot of rubbish getting sold here. But the CDs… the CDs… Unreal, I have never come across such a variety of styles, types, big names and big albums. And they are selling them for cheaper prices than I have ever seen. So it’s really not unlikely that you’ll find, say, Blood Sugar Sex Magik for £3. And I think that’s pretty good. But best of all for me, is lining the walls, are rarities, boxed sets, unheard of Japanese imports, the things collectors dream about. So I’ve found most of my rare Manic Street Preachers singles here. And sure, I paid £85 for their CD of Motown Junk. But the only time I have ever seen it is in this shop. So for that reason, I’m forever indebted… MMM the smell of good music

There is no question this is the most horrible music shop that I have ever visited. Not because of the quality of music they sell, but because the staff are totally and utterly unpleasant, without any hint of manners or courtesy. If you are buying or selling the chances are you will be ripped off. The offers they make you on rare music are an insult and the prices of much of the rare music are insane and laughable. I was left a huge quantity of music by a relative — a good 1000 LPs. I took them down and because they simply didn’t want to be bothered with sorting them(the advert says ‘any quanitity — none refused’) they offered me £1 for the whole lot. As I really didn’t have the
