it was okay. Good for a quick lunch, and not looking for anything special. My husband and I had the fish’n’chips and the hot wings. The hot wings were not hot even though I was warned that they were. I was pouring hot sauce on the hot wings. Then again I can handle spicy food. Fish was good, but like I said, nothing special. It was okay. Would I eat here again? Sure. It just wouldn’t be my first choice.

I’ve only ever had take away from this place but if I’m honest it was one of the worst fish and chips and I’ve ever had. The chips are often cold and under cooked and the fish doesn’t taste very fresh. My husband regularly prefers going to the gross chicken takeaway down the road instead of this place. Having said all that, we often do get chips or chip butties from this place, well, because it’s there, and we like eating chips. But they wouldn’t even register on a scale of good quality chips. Everything appears to sit out under heat lamps for quite a while which kinda grosses me out. I hope to eat at the restaurant soon to see if the quality of the food that is prepared fresh is any better. Will fill you all in then!

I was staying in the area and was craving some chips, so came here and got some, can’t say they were anything special, location wise they were great and right outside the tube station. I didn’t have the fish so can’t comment on that. I wouldn’t make an extra effort to come back here but if I wanted chips and was in the area then I will come back.

Fancy fish’n’chips near Queen’s Park tube station? That’s the place! Both for take-away and dining in(mind their is a different entrance, though they are connected inside). Fish selection is really awesome, but I prefer standard cod plus chips set, maybe with some mushy peas to accompany this greasy affair. Fish is perfectly golden and chips are, well, chippy ;) There is also a nice sauce selection which I must admit I haven’t tried, as I was already scared about the amount of saturated fat I was about to digest: D

My husband loves fish and chips, so when we planned our trip to London I bookmarked a bunch of fish and chip places, including this one that was recommended by my cousin who had studied in London for a year. Sadly, we did not think the fish was that great, the breading was very thick and the fish was overcooked. It is convenient, but there are better places like the Golden Hind.

Can’t fault it seeing as it’s so convenient. Nothing special but it fills a hole at all hours, something to go to because it’s there rather than for taste.

While they offer nothing outstanding in terms of quality, the fish is nice and fresh and the pricing is very fair. They are always happy to make me skinless version in a few minutes extra wait so for that they definitely deserve 4 stars.

Okay, this place is a Queen’s Park tradition. You leave the station after a long day at work, and you pop into Mr Fish. You order the medium Cod and chips and you walk out. Now the trick is to eat it before it get’s cold! And when you do, the vinegar and salt on the cod and chips just fills you with a warmth that’s hard to describe. This isn’t a place where I would choose to dine but occasionally it’s worth a visit to watch the locals pass by. There’s something special about this place that keeps getting me to come back. After 15 years I’m still a die hard fan of this joint and the creamy, tender fish with the soft and crunchy batter it’s served with. A previous reviewer commented that the batter is too hard. Well I suppose the trick is to let it soften a little and always serve it with a generous pour of vinegar and salt.

Mr fish has to be the worst fish ‘n chip shop on the planet. So bad, they don’t even realise that nearly everything they do in there is wrong… What annoys me the most about and one thing I can’t fathom is why people love the place so much. Ok, I’ll admit that the fish is alright once you crack into the sarcophagus that is the batter, the type that makes you want to put your dentists number on the old speed-dial, that’s if you are lucky, otherwise its soggy and old. And that is what primarily lets this place down, like a kid who’s dad has forgotten to pick them up from football practice in the rain. Everything seems like it was cooked yesterday and has been refried since… One of my favourite things, no pun intended, is the sausage in batter, and guess what? They messed that one up to. They look like black-bagged insurgents that have been dipped in honey and rolled in sand… And they taste awful. How can something be undercooked and overcooked at the same time… Basically they cook their specialities as if it was once a southern fried chicken shop that was once a Chinese takeaway. The chips are worst thing. The signature dish is actually made from cardboard. When they fry them, the chip appear to be left out in the open and look as if they are already half-cooked to save time, but all this does is make them taste like a pavement that’s been well walked on and the road sweepers are on strike. Yet I have been there on multiple occasions and have never been surprised about how bad it is, just a pile of regret for spending a ridiculous amount of money for it. And what winds me up is that it is always busy as it is the only chip shop in Queens Park and thus have cornered the market, with a truly substandard product and they don’t even know. I know prices are bad at the moment but 6 quid for a piece of fish that was cooked yesterday makes me want to turn to a life of crime. I’ve never left place so angry every time…

I was delighted to find that Mr Chips was my local chippy in Queen’s Park as their fish is quite delicious. They offer all the standard fish and chip shop grub including sausages, burgers, chicken, scampi and the like, but they also do some salads and desserts. As the other reviewers have said, it’s a stones throw from Queen’s Park so take it there to eat, especially on summer evenings. Alternatively, you can stay and eat it in with all the local OAPS as they seem to offer discounts and special set menus for pensioners. Probably my favourite chippy in London.

A good fish and chips shop which also serves pies and salads. It is either eat-in or take away, which is handy if you want to walk to Queens Park which is like a minute away.

This is a good place for some tasty British fish and chips. It comes wrapped in the obligatory paper so that the vinegar runs out a leaks on your shoes. However sometimes fish and chips is the best food in the world and this does it good. Its not a particularly nice place to sit and eat so take it to Queens Park which is just round the corner.
