As Beth said we popped in Monty’s for a last drink after the Unilocal Newbie’s event and we loved it. I had never been to Shoreditch before(hey hey, new to London ai) but this bar is how i imagined Shoreditch to be: hipsterish, arty and comfy. We sat on a comfy bench full of pillows around a sweet gold table. The place is beautifully painted with art works on the walls and i loved it. I had a cocktail wich i don’t remember the name unfortunately but it contained Jim Beam’s and it was delicious and a bit sour, just as i like. I’m too keen on sweet tastes. The barman was friendly and took care of some trouble that occurred while we were there with stoicism and professionalism which was well appreciated. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a drink int the neighbourhood.

Louisa and myself popped in here for a night cap on Tuesday and we loved it! Monty’s is the definition of Shoreditch cool and is ridiculously hipster BUT it’s relaxing, laid back and perfect for a mid week beverage. What I loved about this place was the amazing art work on the walls — in particular, the cat wall! You could tell that they’d put a lot of thought and time into the image of the bar and the atmosphere and vibe they wanted to get across to clientele and their efforts are more than noticeable when you enter the bar. We went over to the bar and I opted for a Cosmo. The drink was made well and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It didn’t have the sparkle of a cocktail bar cosmo(no flaming orange) but I wasn’t expecting that anyway so it didn’t really matter. One thing I will note is that the bar man was very friendly — there was an incident during the evening where a woman came in grabbed a glass of knives, took it outside and threw it at a gentleman. The bar man, very calmly walked outside and collected the knives. He then picked up a brush and shovel and went outside to clean up the glass. Very professional and he made us feel safe and assured that everything is ok.(Thank you).

i dropped by this place on the way to somewhere else and im glad i did… it’s a pocket size venue that serves alcoholic beverages but i wasn’t here for the drink’s but to check out some of the art work on the walls. they have some interesting artwork that’s worth a peep… i’m not sure if how often they change the exhibits but check it out yourself and grab a drink while you’re there… the ambience was chilled and with very comfy sofa’s to relax on. would i go back? yes

Great soul and r&b music during the day. I dropped in here to grab a cold cocktail and a rest while on Brick Lane. It was a Saturday and my bartender was super nice and upbeat. That was nice. He made me a fantastic Gin Buck. Don’t half step. This is a great little spot to drop in for a cocktail while in the area.

Came here while wandering down Brick Lane. Has an interesting environment that is more reminiscent of bars in New York than those in London. The place has a bit of a fluorescent, basement-y feel to it. The offer Pimm’s Jugs, which are jugs of Pimm’s Cup. It’s quite delicious at a pretty decent price. We came in as a group of 4, and they moved chairs around, and other people around, to make room for us. It was a nice gesture.

Generic, generic, generic. And no I’m not inferring to a set of keywords(only SEM/SEO geeks will get this!) Oh joy of joys, another ‘cocktail’ bar lining the infamous street. You could walk past this place as quickly as you walked in. Used to be a hairdressers and tattoo parlour I believe. I once contemplated getting another ear piercing here, but somehow got dissuaded, perhaps I was drunk? Anyhoo I digress. Don’t really bother unless you’re a true rookie wedged in Sloaney Poney-land.
