I love Mike’s Café! They do really great breakfasts and their service is always friendly and efficient. You can order off their menu or create your own breakfast from the items on the menu. You have your sausages, bacon, beans and eggs varieties(although poached eggs can’t be done after noon) and then your sweeter options with pancakes and french toast or yoghurt and muesli. They have great shakes and other drinks options.

Fantastic, affordable family friendly diner in the heart of Notting Hill. With full English breakfasts, vegetarian options, build your own options and boozy shakes, there is something to please everyone. The kids split the two HUGE pancakes with fruit, which our server happily did on request. Great service! Bookmarking this little gem!

I came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. It also crowded but I got seated immediately. I had the Big Boy breakfast combo. You get to pick six items off the breakfast menu, and it comes with an orange juice, coffee or tea for £9.95. I think it as incredibly reasonable for the neighborhood. The service was also good. It was a great place to be after spending the majority of the day shopping at Portobello Road market. I highly recommend this place for brunch. Plus — they take card, which is great for tourists like me! Also — free WiFi!

This was definitely a good find on our way to Portobello flea market. Felt like it was a place where all regulars go and everybody knows everybody. Nice fresh squeezed orange juice. Had French toast with bananas and bacon. Huge piece of bread generously dipped in egg batter. Very nice waitress staff.

Great place for a Full English Breakfast with friends, price is OK, staff is not really friendly or attentive but food is delicous! The place is always full but is worth a visit! Very close Portobello Road pop in there will be a good start of your shopping at the market

Oh hell no. It was promising at first, it looked adorable from the street. But the waitress set the tone by coming off as a complete biiiioootch to our polite interaction. She was a petite/short blonde, but they are all blonde so hard to pinpoint which one. I wanted to say, «Bitch, you are not the Queen of England!» She acted like we were in her way. We both ordered a burger. Yes, the portions are huge but it was the blandest burger I’ve ever had. We ask her about the map of patrons out of curiosity and she was incredibly dismissive. I was totally grossed out and finished mid-meal when I kept getting attached by fruit flies. They were swarming my food! Helllooooo!!! Unsanitary!!! I turned to my guy and asked where the F were all these pre-maggots coming from, as it was making me ill to see so many of them and flying onto my food. Then a dude walks out with an exploding bag of garbage past us. Um, hey buddy, maybe you were overdue on taking out your nasty garbage. After that, mealtime over. We get the check and Queen Bee-yotch included her tip. Mmmm hmmm, yea, because you knew we weren’t going to give you one. Yea, F this place! Don’t waste your moneyyyyy!

This is a good breakfast place. The only downside is the extremely slow service here, but granted, there are only 2 waiters. I would try the Big Boy for a variety and option not to mention large quantity for first-timers! Try the black pudding, bacon, potato. Also, be careful the waiters can get your orders wrong if you have a large party. But I did not mind, so I did not bring it up. But overall, I would not come here for services, but I would come here for a decent breakfast. The price is also very reasonable.

After a rainy walk down Portobello market we randomly chose this place for a quick mid morning bite. I’m glad we did as it did not disappoint. The seating is limited, but we barely waited long. Portions were much larger than I anticipated, although after reading other reviews it seems that’s the norm. The prices were fair and the service was good for this type of spot. And the lollipops at the end were a nice touch.

Mike’s café from the outside looks like a tourist trap, and, unfortunately, it is. The quirky and modern decord can only throw you off momentarily from the chaotic service and unpleasant staff. The place is always jam-packed, to the point where it is claustrophobic and everyone seems to suffer from it. The waiters seem overworked and hurried, meaning that they give little to no attention to the customer, not even a smile. The food is decent at best, the eggs are slightly bland, and the bread and butter are not of pristine quality. All in all, a very underwhelming experience. If it weren’t for the reasonable prices and passable food, there’s no reason to come here.

Stay away if you’re on a diet, like normal portions, hate waiting in line, or tend to get claustrophobic. This is the place you go when you’d like a huge amount greasy food after a night out. It’s a local favourite, cosy, and the food is decent. I’ve tried the benedict and florentine with poached eggs. The poached eggs are often a bit weird, the egg white too firm. I suspect that the poached eggs are made in some kind of apple slice pan. The chef tends to drown the bread in hollandaise sauce so I suggest asking him to go easy on the sauce. All in all, the place is ok and decent, but in no way extraordinary. It’s more the place you visit to afterwards tell your local friends ‘ya, I was at Mike’s last weekend’.

Great spot for a hearty breakfast on the weekend. We luckily snagged the last table and did not have to wait in line. They have a couple of tables outside so you can people watch and enjoy the weather… when it isn’t raining. Staff is friendly and efficient. Portions were huge too. We tried the Special which included eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast as well as a ham, cheese, and mushroom omelette. We also ordered the hash browns and some fresh squeezed orange juice. Good food at very reasonable prices.

Mike’s café is the best spot for a late breakfast or lunch(the place has loads to offer) It has reasonable prices and excellent food. You can choose something off the menu or you can create your own breakfast. There is plenty of choice for meat eaters’ breakfasts + a monster breaky plate with everything. The jacket potatoes are super yum. The roast and the pasta portions are gigantic. The tea is delicious, the sammiches look scrumptious– havent tried them yet– waiting for next time. The interior is simple. Normally it’s very busy so you have to wait till a table is free– it is incredibly popular. The staff is friendly and if you go there with kids, they always give the kids lollipops before leaving.

Cool local spot. Been here forever apparently. Original owners son is now in charge blah blah TRADITION! But it’s also fairly popular with the locals and on a Sunday afternoon. We were lucky to have snagged a table during a pause of punters. I like the menu design. Above the column that shows the prices it says«the damage», mhmhmhmh sarcasmmmyesss Ordered a mushroom & cheese omelet and my friend had the beef roast. HUGEPORTIONS. My omelet was tasty but a bit overcooked and the chips were meh. His roast was meh as well but they have proper horseradish sauce that masked all wrongs mmmmm(store bought though) My macchiato was tasty? Sorry guys that’s all I got. If you want to be truthful and sound like a ladbroke local when you’re telling your coworkers what you did this weekend… then come here.

Hi Just visited this café as I was working near by. Ordered the special breakfast. But found nothing special about it. Susages were bland not buchers susages, bacon salty, beans were just warm and the tea was stewed. On a positive note the staff were polite and service was fast.

There’s no shortage of great places to eat in Notting Hill — but this is by far the best place to come to for a late weekend breakfast. Classic English selection, really laid back and far less ‘grease’ in what people may think is a greasy spoon. Also, go here if you want to avoid the Notting Hill prices. Have the eggs royale or an omlette with EVERYTHING.

There has been a change to the Veggie Special that now includes very greasy triangle shaped hash brown-like potato patties a la those found at McDonald’s *shudder.* I still love this place, although largely since it is a block from me, but this is a change I could do without. Gross, Mike’s, gross.

3.5÷5 — First visit: I went to Mike’s for breakfast after wandering around the area for ages looking for somewhere that didn’t have«Notting Hill» prices. Mike’s still isn’t greasy spoon cheap, but it’s the most reasonable place in the area that was open that morning. I created my own vegetarian breakfast, with toast, beans, eggs and chips. It was all tasty and the portions were huge. My only complaint is I wish they had a veggie sausage, and a proper veggie breakfast(i.e. including mushrooms and hashbrowns and at a lower price than the build-your-own equivalent would be). There is plenty of choice for meat eaters’ breakfasts, including a monstrous one that has everything on it. The service was great, the décor is decent, and the menu has tons of options for lunch if you want to go later in the day.
