Midori Sushi is a unique little gem that is tuked away in Putney. If nothing else, the chef puts his whole heart into his work. But, the food is also very delicious.

Midori Sushi quickly became one of my preferred lunch options in Putney. Beautifully prepared, delicious and surprisingly cheap. The little and very modest-looking Japanese restaurant Midori Sushi was recommended to me over dinner with friends some months ago. As I currently work in Putney and walked past this place often, I made a plan to go there for lunch. And since I went there for the first time, I keep coming back one or two times a week. Really, Midori Sushi now is one of my favourite lunch spots in Putney. The guy who runs the place is perhaps the most friendly person I know. And most of the food looks stunning and it always tastes delicious. I am a big fan of the Chicken Katsu Curry and the Chicken Teriyaki. And the Chicken Curry Ramen has a nice spicy heat to it that works great on a cold day. It can be very busy over lunch, and sometimes there is a bit of a crowd in the shop, but most days I find a place to sit down without waiting and then can read something until the food arrives. The service at Midori Sushi is lovely and personal — after just a few visits, he knows what I usually order and sometimes while I sit there and read before and after eating my lunch, he offers me tasters of other dishes so I get to know more menu options. That is what I call brilliant customer service. Really, if you look for a light and somewhat healthy lunch in Putney, Midori Sushi is the place to go. Much better than the Japanese high street chains you might already know… and you pay much less for much more tasty food.

I love this little tiny Japanese restaurant. You have to pay attention to find it as is really small: literally just one table and the counter. It’s more a take away place, but the two times I’ve been I stayed there. They cook is very nice and, even if they close at 21:00, he let’s you stay later if you’ve ordered food. Gyozas, sushi, makis… everything I’ve tried so far is been really good. The fish is fresh and you see how he makes everything in front of you. Everything with duck on it has an amazing taste. And for less than £15!!! I’ll be back as I’ve seen some noodles for only £4 and I want to try them!

This place is a wonderful and welcome addition to Putney’s restaurant /takeaway scene. The sushi is delicious and is always freshly made to order by the charming chef. The menu is rather adventurous too. And to cap it off, it’s very reasonably priced. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Sushi to me! This place has only been open for about a month, so the owner is still learning but he’s a very sweet and kind guy. The opening hours are noon-3pm, they close, then re-open at 5pm for the dinner rush. The prices are affordable. You can get 6 pcs for £4.95. Now for the sushi. The fish is fresh and everything is made to order, even the miso soup. I could imagine this place can get quite busy. The menu and venue is a little on the small side but its clean and perfect for a quick drop in to relieve a sushi craving. No sake available yet, so the boozer inside of me pouts… but I will definately be returning.
