Stopped for a quick dinner and found a gem. Great hummus and falafel. Helpful and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place.

I’ve been to lots of shisha cafes up and down the UK as I’m avid shisha smoker, came across this place via facebook and decided to give it go when I was in London. Firstly it’s not the easiest of places to find; in fact my friend and me walked right past and had to double back! As for the food I can’t really review as we arrived there quite early and besides I wasn’t there for the food only the shisha. The shisha area is basically a small courtyard at the back of the building with wooden seating with those large umbrellas or canopies. It’s functional and has a very student feel to it. Ordered my shisha, it did take a while to come but I think this was more down to the coals not being ready. Shisha smoked fine and was produced big clouds. A good point is that these guys don’t use those nasty quick light coals but natural coals. While sitting there and chilling it’s easy to start a conversation with fellow customers as the staff certainly made no conversation with us! Would I go back… if I was in the area then yes.

Mevali is one of those places that you could walk straight past without even noticing it. It’s a typical kebab café, with a courtyard area at the back where they have shisha available to smoke whilst seated at outdoor tables with heaters. Despite charging only £12 for a shisha that lasts two hours(according to the regular we shared a table with), they use good quality tobacco and coals. The food wasn’t bad, we had a couple of mezzes at £4.50 each, and they were happy to provide an extra flat bread for free when we ran out due to the big serve of hummus. As an added bonus, they allow you to bring your own alcohol at a charge of £2.50 per person, and provide glasses for beer or wine. Service was friendly, although a little slow. They made up for it by offering to waive the bring-your own-alcohol charge for our wine, without us even saying anything. The shisha smoking area did have a bit of a «student» feel, but there were groups of various ages in the main restaurant. Mevali is probably worth a visit if you’re in Greenwich, or even if you’re not and want shisha smoking, but probably not worth coming too far for just the food.

Just found out about this place this week and really like it. The staff were very polite, but most importantly the shisha was delicious. Definitely worth a visit. Oh and if the weather is nice you should definitely sit outside, they have a really lovely back garden.

Mevali offers a wide array of shisha selections. It is housed in the oldest building in Greenwich and also serves an array of items such as lamb and chicken kebabs, delicious meze’s and meze platters, lahmacun, baguettes, panini’s, oven jacket potatoes, teas, coffees and home made cakes. There is a nice sized garden in the back that when the weather is good, is an ideal place to get your shisha on! They will let you mix flavours, which I highly recommend. Another perk is that while they don’t serve alcohol, it is BYOB! Just note that they charge a £2.50 «cork-age fee» per person… not per bottle. Fortunately, there are a couple off licenses nearby and one next door.

In Greenwich at the weekend we were looking for somewhere for lunch and found this place. As it was a sunny afternoon we sat in the courtyard at the back which is quite small but pleaseant. The staff were friendly and attentive and serivce was prompt. Rather than go for the usual sandwiches we decided to try the wraps marinated checken breast and lamb kofte wrapped in home made Lebanese flatbreads with dollops of garlic mayo and spicy sauce on the side. They were delicious and reasonably priced, I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in the area.

Spent a relaxing couple of hours nestled in the back of the courtyard here smoking shisha. Gotta say, this is the best shisha I’ve ever tried and the owner was very friendly and attentive, making sure we got the most out of the pipe! Didn’t try the food but it is also BYO here. Try the Redbull Gives you Wings it’s worth the extra money!
