This is not a place I can really write a wholly descriptive review of as there had been alcohol involved before we came, but I shall try nevertheless. We went for the Toptable deal which offered a 10-dish mezze platter and a bottle of wine between two for £28, and kindly, the restaurant allowed us to take the deal for a table of 9 which is much more reasonable than some places have been in the past. The platters were — surprisingly — a decent size and offered hummous, a yoghurt dip, chicken skewers, lamb koftes, vine leaf wrapped rice, flatbreads, fried halloumi, sauteed potato cubes, tabouleh, and one more thing that escapes me(hey, I did pretty well considering). I confess that I’ve not really had Lebanese food much at all, but I found it pretty decent(when i wasn’t dropping the chicken on myself). The wine — a Spanish rioja — was, um, well, I’ve had worse but I did wake up with a horribly dry mouth but ultimately, what can you expect for the price? We also had some shisha on the tables outside(£12 a pipe) which was nice to have post-dinner. The staff were also friendly to us which was a nice bonus(again, that doesn’t always happen for diners-on-deals). Overall, the deal is pretty decent value and I’ll try it out again when I’m a little less tipsy.

I was very surprised at the quality of the food. Lamb tagine was just as it should be, and the mint tea was really good, too. If there is one negative comment to make, it would be about the pitta bread which was just the standard, cheap, tasteless bread offered by the local Sainsbury’s(I’ve seen the waitress popping out to get it ;) — this is especially painful considering how incredibly tasty the real Moroccan bread is. The staff are polite and the service is relatively quick. This place cosy enough and easily accessible. Good stuff! I will be coming back.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant many times in Queensway. It may not be the best Moroccan restaurant in London, but it has a nice atmosphere, is never packed, you can enjoy a good time with your friends, and the food is quite good. A main course is about £8, starters £4, deserts £4−5, so the prices are fairly reasonable. The food is always fresh, and cooked to a very high quality, in a short time. The service here is friendly and efficient, and they have some of the most responsive waiters I’ve seen in London. They have a nice range of teas, Baklava, and Shishas, if a Moroccan drink/snack/smoke is more your thing. Most of the times, the people smoking have been at the front of the restaurant where its open to the street, so if you don’t like the smell, you can sit somewhere where it won’t be a problem. Its also right opposite Queensway tube station(central line), so its very easy to get to. Overall, I think its good value for money.
