+ Friendly service + Yummy tapas — Could see waiters handling food :/ I came here with 2 other friends with a booking so was quickly seated. The waiter was very friendly and we chatted to him about the price of the huge leg of jamon next to us. £200 in the UK but only £20 in Spain! I was born in the wrong country :) We ordered 3 dishes of tapas each and a jug of sangria. I have to say the sangria was a bit too fizzy for my taste but overall it was fruity and not skimpy on the wine. The food arrived in quick succession and was plentiful and delicious. I’d skip the patatas bravas but go for the beef/chicken/pork balls and squid. They were the highlights. Unfortuntely my two friends were still hungry and ordered further tapas but that was good for me. The waiter did try to push a spare plate of cheese which has obviously been surplus but we said no. Also we had pretty close up view of the food preparation as it was quite open and I could see the food being prepared by the waiters with their bare hands. It was more like the finishing up process– arranging the food or adding sauce. If you care about hygiene then you might not enjoy seeing it but I don’t mind so much– it probably goes on in the kitchen without customers seeing it in most kitchens so go figure! I would return.

Terrible terrible food. Even with a groupon voucher of 5 dishes and 2 glasses of wine I felt robbed. They boast of quality food but the meat dishes(meatballs, ham croquettes, chorizo) were bland, texture less and oily tasteless sauces. The wine was the saving grace but they didn’t tell me what it was! Service from Spanish waiters was also not bad. I won’t be returning — not authentic, not tasty, not enjoyable.

Terrible service! They were out of items, and didn’t know about it, and in the end charged me for things I never got. The food was OK, nothing special. The staff is not attentive at all, even when there was one of them for each occupied table. Very disappointed with the place.

Quick glance: + good wine + nice area for catching up with friends — disappointing tapas Full review: When the sign for Mas Q Menos first went up on High Holborn before its grand opening, I searched online for this new name and read somewhere(in a real estate magazine, of all places!) that Mas Q Menos is a Spanish import that has achieved great success back home and is expanding into London with its first branch on Holborn. On a Friday evening, undecided on where to go with a friend as we passed by Mas Q Menos, I keenly turned towards the restaurant to experience Spanish tapas as it is from Spain. Except… the food wasn’t great. The crispy pork belly as listed on the menu, to the waitress’s credit did explain when we ordered it that it wasn’t actually crispy. Still, why would you have«crispy» in the title when the dish was a brown stew that didn’t look like particularly enticing. And it was served lukewarm. The patatas bravas came with meagre amount of sauce that didn’t pack much flavour. We had another couple or so dishes but none were memorable. Perhaps tapas isn’t their strong point(!?) and we should have gone for the jamón and cold cuts(which we didn’t sample). The wine was its saving grace, even if a little pricey. Overall, Mas Q Menos offers a good environment if you want to share a bottle(or few!) of wine with friends, as I noticed quite a few other tables were doing on Friday dinner time…

Finally a decent Spanish tapas bar! The décor is pleasant, the service typically Laid back and the menu has a good including items not usually seen on a «British» attempt at tapas. The jamon croquettes were ok — I have made better at home and have had much better in Spain. The octopus was fab. It is lovely to be in a place that feels like you are in Spain. The people working here are actually Spanish and happily chat away to each other in Spanish while they are working. I will be coming back as there is a lot more of the menu to try!

Went for lunch with a work colleague earlier today, after coming across it one night, walking back home. As a big fan of Spanish food, I was excited to see what this place had to offer. I went for the goats cheese salad, which was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced at 5.50. It was quite filling and a decent size. Was very impressive that they remembered to put the dressing on the side for me. We couldn’t make our mind up when it come to the wine and so we were quite place when the waitress brought us a rose and a red to try. We opted for the red, despite being the cheapest on the menu and were far from disappointed. Would definitely recommend this place. My only gripe was the lack of a set menu for the tapas.

I was really excited to try this place out — Spanish food from an authentic Spanish restaurant! Unfortunately, there were a few things missing from a fantastic experience, like, oh I don’t know, (1) Appropriate portion sizes — £6.90 for a tiny sandwich with ham and brie? (2) Staff who treated you with respect — just because you’d rather speak to each other in Spanish doesn’t mean that I don’t understand you and when you’re talking trash about the customers (3) Actually respecting the discounts they advertise. I ordered a take-away sandwich, and they had a 20% off discount to mark their opening. The card says: «Offer only available on food, excludes all drinks». When I tried to present this card, the cashier said that it was valid only on drinks. When I disputed this point, he then said that he already gave me 20% off — but it was only 17% off. Small change, sure, but still dishonest and it definitely adds up for the management. I really wanted to like this place but I’ll not be heading back.

This is the first branch of the famed Mas Q Menos chain in Spain! All the ingredients were fresh and high quality — the salads were some of the best I’ve had in London, yet were very simple. Their Spanish hams were great quality too. Atmosphere is casual, like bistro style. Menu is a smaller than a typical restaurant, and more geared towards a lunch or light dinner rather than a full-blown meal. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable for the portions and quality you get!
