A cute little M&S, hidden in the far corner of The Broadway, right next to the Thameslink station, this supermarket is ideally located for any Mill Hillians interested in quality foodstuffs, a beautiful wine selection, and the odd bouquet of flowers. Nodding nicely to the charity collector outside, you’ll be faced with a selection of ready-to-eat sandwiches, the flowers and then a non-intuitive store layout: bread is halfway towards the back, refridgerated goods to your left, a limited selection of condiments and a wild assortment of greetings cards just before the checkouts. Prices are standard for any M&S in London, but this supermarket is especially small. I’m always impressed with how much stuff the staff are able to accommodate here, but often they just don’t have what I want on their shelves. Moreover, the checkout staff are not the friendliest I’ve ever met, and regularly there has only been one checkout person despite the number of customers. It’s a good little supermarket; just don’t hold your breath for more unusual items.
