The sis and I needed to stock up for two days and so we went here… got the basic necessities of water /milk /eggs and not so basic necessities of Cadbury hot chocolate mix! The place itself is clean and organized… the staff were friendly considering I looked lost half of the time! I realized that I wasn’t in Rome when saw the prices in GBP denomination and of course, started really asking myself whether or not I wanted more junk food!

Love. Used to be here in Canada, but no more and I have to travel to the UK or Hong Kong for my M&S fix. Their chocolates and biscuits(cookies) are without a doubt the best. The prepared(frozen) food is top-notch and almost difficult to believe it is mass produced and frozen. Undergarments last for years. All in all, my favourite chain in the world.

Love this store and branch in general! They always have a good selection of food and drinks. Perfect place to stock up on items needed for the plane, train, tube, or hotel. Definitely pop into these stores!

One of the things I miss about London is Marks & Spencer sandwiches! I know people think British food is weird or not delicious, but I disagree. I fell in love with the food(which complements my love for British culture). Anyways, Marks & Spencer pretty much have everything to satisfy your hunger. My favorite sandwich is the Eat Well Prawn & Mayonnaise Sandwich. It’s quite delicious. My trip to London wouldn’t be the same without a stop at Marks & Spencers before getting on a train back to Brighton. :)

It’s not entirely true that food in London sucks. I mean, come on, they have Marks & Spencer Simply Food!(For those in the States, this is the British equivalent of Dean & Deluca.) My eyes would light up every single time I saw the bold and bright«SIMPLYFOOD» sign. This location was a short distance from our hostel, The Generator, so we survived on this stuff when we didn’t want to shell out £10 for a plain falafel wrap or £20 for a very unsatisfying Indian meal. And this stuff isn’t just stuff. It’s gourmet and very scrumptious(as the English would say it)! Their pre-packaged sandwiches were a reliable standby for lunch or a mid-day snack. It was hard to choose from so many delectable choices, like poached salmon and watercress, rare roast beef and horseradish, and roast chicken salad. For dinner, there was a myriad of hot food items to choose from. Goat cheese quiches, roasted racks of lamb, and grilled veggie pizzas, oh my! Of course, a meal has to end on a sweet note and M&S had a plethora of desserts and goodies to choose from. Whether it was profiteroles or cheesecake, the choice was always a good one. And all the British candy and snacks lining the checkout aisles never failed in convincing me that it was absolutely necessary to stock up on snacks for the road. This place is dangerous to the wallet, but also dangerously good.

One Friday evening, I’ve totally forgotten that I invited Esther to my flat. First thing I thought was«M&S Simply food» I grabbed salad, deli meat, dessert, bread, pâté, pasta, sauces, wine and flowers. I ran back to my place and made it my own way. Esther was quite impressed with the meal. 3 words, «Simply good food» *Not my cooking but the food quality* It’s a bit pricey. But it surely beats eating out all the time. In a way, M&S saved my day. Other than that, M&S is the to-go place for quick lunch and dinner. They also have Indian, Italian and Chinese food. I tried the Indian food once and I didn’t like it. Hey! It’s just me.

God, I miss those tv food porn ads Marks & Spencer had conjured! I know they were voted one of the most annoying tv adverts ever, but I loved them. I loved the background Fleetwood Mac music, and the«succulent chicken» or the«melt in the middle Belgian chocolate puddings». They never failed to make my mouth water, and they pretty much summed up how I feel about M&S food. I love it. With good quality groceries, a fresh delicious bakery, and a big range of lunch meals this has got to be my favourite grocery store. Oh, if only I could afford it more often! M&S foods is also very popular with those busy office workers who never seem to leave work before 10pm. It offers them all of the ready meal they need. Sad, I know, but it’s better than living on kebabs or beans on toast. You can always rely on M&S on that one day where you really don’t feel like cooking and just reach out for a pretty decent comforting lasagna, quiche, or shepherd’s pie which will make everything better.
