This wasn’t my first visit to Maoz, but it was one of the best. At the end of a visit to London, my trip budget and my stomach were simultaneously running low. Maoz provided an inexpensive and filling dinner. The falafel box let me customize my meal and stuff in more food than I ended up being able to eat. Not much in the way of seating here, but nearby Leicester Square provided a suitable spot to eat up.

Decent little veggie place that’s a chain. The falafel was fresh and the salad was a nice choice. 6.50£ for salad and falafel is still steep in my opinion! A good stop if you need something quick but there are yummier options around!

I have to say I am kind of with Geoff on this place. It is not as good as it once was. Maoz is where I tasted my first ever falafel, that fateful night at the end of a stag do… And sadly for falafel-kind, no other place has even been close to being as good. Of course it was loads better when there were more salad options and you could go back to the salad bar, but my favourite options are all still there and I can’t finish the thing on the first serving let alone going back to the salad bar for more, so the changes don’t affect me in the slightest! It’s not getting the full 5 stars from me because I remember the better days but it’s still a solid 4 and I don’t think you can get a better falafel than this anywhere in the area(including the couple of local falafel stalls nearby). Go Maoz!

Moaz have a bunch of awesome things going for them. Service is super friendly, food is cheap and the help your own salad looked crazy fresh even though we came late at night(~9pm). Like literally everything looked like it had just been freshly cut seconds ago. However I’m not really a falafel person and falafel at Moaz didn’t really change my mind which is why I’ve knocked it down a star. A must go if you like falafels or salad! Add ons include feta, guac and aubergine which are again crazy fresh!

Somehow having an office within walking distance to Soho and Covent Garden I still get panic attacks on what I should be having for lunch every day. Luckily the choices are numerous and I am making it my mission in life to try out 2 or 3 joints per week and I believe this task will be a neverending story considering how fast some places come and go in this area. A few doors down from Biju bubble tea shop is this falafel place, which is surprisingly filled with people for lunch. When people mention lunch falafel is certainly not on my list of eats, but hey, on with the food! The cheapest item on the menu is a falafel wrap which has 4 falafels, salads that they put in for you in a wrap for £6.50. You can get a pitta which is £7.50 but you can add more salad at the salad bar. Fancy hot fried chips? Another £2 please. There is a box deal where you can make one trip to the salad bar. They make the wrap in front of you so you can see just how much lettuce, tomatoes, beetroot etc is in your meal and wow was that a healthy lunch or what? The salad ingredients are very very fresh. The falafel balls look pretty small but they are seasoned well and very crunchy. My lament is that the wrap was not heated so the only«hot» thing about this wrap are the semi warm falafels. The way they layer the veg as well means that one bite might consist only of lettuce and another bite only beetroot, which is hilarious. If you eat in the place is quite small with some seating, so it runs out of seating fast. I would just take away my meals and eat in the comfort somewhere else. Not bad all in all, but not somewhere that I am so amazed with that I will come back all the time. It is a bit on the expensive side(I could have a complete set lunch at one of the Japanese restaurants nearby for £7!)

It used to be the best falafel in London, is it still? I’m not sure… They’ve changed it up a little since I was last there, the white pittas are gone, and the only option is wholemeal. Not such a bad thing. But they’ve also reduced their offerings in the salad bar and stuck up a sign that says only one visit allowed. I can understand why they did it, but with something like a falafel, unless you are really good at putting it together the first time, quite often, by the time you get halfway through, all of the goodies you got from the salad bar are gone and you’re left with falafel balls and lettuce, not the best way to finish. But still, hot falafel in a pitta with as much veggies you can pile on. What’s not to like? The falafel balls are made to order and I normally get a salad box, easier to handle and control what you eat and when. It’s about £7 for lunch, not including a drink which is the upper limit of what I’m normally willing to pay. That said, it’s relatively healthy and you get a fair amount of bang for your buck, even with no protein available. Why only 3 stars? They’ve removed some of my favourite salad bar items and implemented the one trip only rule. Otherwise it’d be rated higher…

Fav place for falafel. Go for the box, bit pricey but you can put as many veggies and pickles as you want for free. Some sides cost 50p extra. Cozy, tiny place, mostly busy but you always get a place inside. Lovely décor, kind service. Unfortunately, after wanting to eat there yesterday(28.05.2016) I shockingly learmed that they closed down

Superbly fresh food in a large quantities for a mind-blowingly cheap price point. Satisfy a raging hunger with protein(although falafels are fried), veggies, and salt with a pita or «salad box.» Great to scarf after a long trek/hike or workout without feeling bogged down post-meal, or like you’re going to go into a carbo-overload coma followed by hangover. For less than £6, you get the salad box with about 6 – 7 falafels, a heaping dollop of hummus, and a large box in which you can load up to your heart’s desire with veggie sides like fried cauliflower, pickled carrots, purple cabbage salad, mushrooms, and other daily offerings. The pitas are also gargantuan, and a few £ less in price. Staff are very friendly and willing to take the time to explain ingredients and different modes of preparation. A super casual and quick bite in or take out option. A definite go-to meal for lunch or dinner without the health-adverse guilt, and this is great to have in the heart of Soho where there are far too many naughty temptations like gelato, cakes, pastries, and pub fare that can make it hard to find healthy, quick, and cheap options sometimes.

Lovve this place! Probably because I can choose my own salads, what always adds a bit of fun ;) Falafel is always fresh and good, can’t complain really. They even have tahini!

This is a really inexpensive place healthy place to grab a bite while walking around soho. It looks like nothing from the outside but its so good! Its mainly self service and you can fill up your dish with an assortment of veggies and sides. Chips are extra and the lemonade is good! The side sauces are a nice touch. Its very casual dining that you can full up on easily.

Located on Old Compton St in a busy part of Soho. This chain features in most European major cities. For falafel, humus and mediterranean salad it is worth a try and I am sure you will enjoy. A tad on the expensive side for what you get in my opinion, but refreshingly different which is a key to its success. The chips are a nice touch and worth buying as they taste like they are double fried(in a good way!) The seating is basic and the toilets poor… thats said if you fancy a European Vegi place with a salad thats different to what elsewhere provides, this offers all that. Enjoy!

Wandering around before the theatre, there are few places to get a meal that’s tasty, quick, and healthy. Maoz, surprisingly, ticks all those boxes. I wouldn’t rate the falafel as top-notch as those in Israel, but pretty good — it’s the toppings that make it! For a bit extra you can get aubergine, feta, or other yummies. You can also stuff your pita(or box, for low-carb eaters) with as much salad as you like. The salads are all beautifully arranged in neat piles, and include the rarer options like roast cauliflower(mmmm). I was not such a fan of the chips sold separately — I would’ve preferred just a few chips in the pita. Also, the place is entirely vegetarian!

Tasty Falafel, confusing pricing, not best service. But still good food. When I was heading to a gig I was looking for a quick snack and while searching for places in the area, I thought a falafel would be nice. So I decided to check Maoz Falafel on Old Compton Street. The interior of the little restaurant felt a bit cold despite the fact that they use thick and heavy wood for stools and chairs. The place was not very busy, but when I was walking up to the counter, it took the few staff a bit before they actually started to serve me. Not the best customer experience, when your first impression is that staff ignore customers. After I completed my order, I was a bit surprised by the price — apparently a salad was added as default option. Not great, if you ask me, as I did not ask for it. The falafel itself was delicious, I liked the crunchiness and the flavour. The feta cheese I had added was alright, but mainly stuffed into one end of the pitta which was not ideal. Overall, I can recommend Maoz Falafel for the food, but you should make very clear what you want, and what you do not want to avoid surprises…

Such fresh and good falafel. My favourite falafel. The hummus is good ans flavourful too but slightly too thick and filling for my liking. Like the generous open salad bar, though id like to see more green leaves.

Yummmm so I’m half-ashamed to admit that I’ve come here for dinner two nights in a row. It’s just, where else can you get such a huge box of salad, 5 crispy and flavorful falafels, hummus and a side of whole wheat pita for 5.50 pounds?(Note: they also have falafel pitas that work the same way) Meals here are satisfying, healthy and reasonably priced for students. They have a salad bar so you can choose what you want to put into your box. My favorite salads are the roasted cauliflower, the tangy shredded beets, marinated slightly spicy carrot and roasted peppers. I seriously love this place, and you really can’t go wrong. The service is quick and friendly, and if you want chips and drink, it’s only 2 pounds extra. Definitely recommend this place for a quick, healthy and cheap meal if you’re craving veggies!

This is maybe one of my top choices when it comes to a falafel. You really can’t go wrong with any of the options the chain offers. I personally love the wrap as it’s easy to eat, full of delicious veggies and it’s not really necessary to have a drink with it as the toppings and sauces make the falafel smooth and squishy but not runny, just perfect. However, with those prices, one can have as many drinks as wanted. The falafel itself comes to a fiver, so I always stretch out with my food as much I want. 5 shiny stars for Maoz.

This place is amazing! Great salad selection, hummus, and falafel. While the museums in London are free or inexpensive… the Tate Modern is a must! Dining out can be costly, but it is easy to get a healthy affordable meal here. So check it out!

I honestly don’t know how it’s possible to give this place less than five stars. It has everything your heart could want(when it comes to falafel.) First of all, falafel! But not just any one, crispy, delicious, warm, well seasoned falafel. I always feel like they nail it, each time. Amazing. And then the salad! Make your own salad box with falafel. Oh yes. Tomatoes and couscous and cucumbers and peppers and pickles and so much more. It’s a salad box with your falafel and it is delicious. Then, the price! Cheap! For the meal deal which comes with falafel and salad box and pita and fried aubergines and a drink, it’s like £7. What? Yes. Also, the service is top notch and I feel like they’ve never been rude to me, even when I’ve been on a late night falafel bender. Yes, those things exist. It’s a chain and a wonderful chain. My god, now I’m on a falafel bender! Watch out world.

There are falafels — and then there is Moaz with gorgeously yummy falafels! One bite and you’re in heaven. And this comes from someone who has travelled extensively in the Middle East :-) If you’re wheat allergic like me this is a great place as you can opt in for a falafel box — incl a drink around 6.70 quid, so one of the more affordable options in central London. You’re served falafel and humous and can mix and match your own choice of salad from the 10 – 12 different options. Ah! — great service as well :-)

MM How do I start here, this Maoz is definitely different than the one I go to back in New York, with an extra variety of toppings to add on. Lets start with the salad, which is probably the most money-worth item on the menu. You get a huge salad box for around £6 and 5 tiny falafel balls on the side plus small pita bread with the option to add babaganoush or hummus or fried aubergines. Falafel is delicious by the way, the small bite size makes it crunchier of course! Then lets talk about the salad. God, if you’re slightly tipsy or feel like getting a meal for two, this is the place to fulfill your veggie fantasy. You can pretty much pile up as much salad as you would like to until the box is full– not necessarily closing, but full. Like spilling full. The best salad to get is definitely the cauliflower. MUSTGET. Corn is obviously from a can, then they have beans, red lettuce, chick peas, pickles, broccoli, tomatoes, beet root, something that resembles colesaw salad and such. They also have salsa, onion, and some kind of green spicy sauce. PLUS! Tahini, yogurt, garlic(YUM!) ketchup(for fries, please don’t add it to your falafel) and mayonnaise. Garlic sauce is sooo good! So to sum up, a salad box can potentially last you 2 meals if you’re the kind who doesn’t care about the onlooker’s eyes on your greedy stomach. Well worth it. Clean place and healthy tasting!

Ein Fastfood-Laden für Vegetarier. Wer schnell was essen möchte, ist hier richtig.
