I like this place but I didn’t even do the karaōke part. I stopped in for a few drinks before dinner nearby. Yes, the drinks are a bit watered down and on the pricey side. But the plus side is that the drinks are tasty, the seats are comfortable, and they play really good music. Not a bad way to kill an hour before dinner!

Such an awesome idea, a karaōke place! I first tried the one in soho in uni days, when I never even knew it was a thing and ever since I was hooked! The black and pink theme is a total winner and In this branch they have a super cool and area with a dj and leather sofas, so it’s perfect for a few drinks before you do karaōke. The cocktail menu is song themed, which is a cute idea! A particular favourite of mine is the Phil raspberry Collins which is stoli vodka with raspberries and soda. Simple yet delicious! If you’re going lucky voice the cocktails are quite pricey, so come for happy when it’s 2−4−1. If you’re doing karaōke, you get your own private room and you can order cocktails and food to the room. The song list is pretty extensive and I think if you’re doing karaōke you could do a lot, lot worse than check this place out!

Let’s just admit that whoever says«oh I hate karaōke» is lying. Once you get in there it is infectious… Great fun can be had in the private karaōke rooms here. We had an amazing night! There’s even a box with props(think wigs and inflatable guitars ;)). Drinks can be ordered from your private room and they will be brought to you — great service. They have offers on karaōke most nights of the week… We got 50% off for checking into Lucky Voice on Facebook. Awesome. Other offers include 50% off for«worthy workers», people who live in the vicinity etc.

The bar was empty on a Friday night, but all the karoke booths seemed to be full. It’s your typical rent a room sing-a-long fun. I think it cost £200 for 10 for 2 hours. Which isn’t too bad! Staff we’re quite abrupt, but would go back.

They have every song from the grease 2 soundtrack– I mean do I need to say anymore? Many hours of fun have been had here. I love that they give a discount for worthy workers, and the staff here are all super lovely and helpful. They have some great happy hour offers, and props a plenty. There are different sized booths available which is great. Even those who are not such big fans of karaōke seem to get into it(again, happy hour!) and there is a great selection of songs incase you don’t want to just sing grease 2 songs(can’t imagine why you wouldn’t though?) and I love the make this the last song feature which means that even if you get carried away and lose track of time you don’t get cut off midway through a b side filler but instead get to go out on a high. If, like me not so long ago, you are a reluctant karaōke-er I would encourage you to give it a try here, tone deaf or otherwise for the moments that you are holding the mic you feel just like Michelle Pfeiffer in, what was the name of that film again?

I had never been to a karaōke bar where they have rooms! It’s very cool and private. There were about ten of us in the room. It was neat to be able to see the queue of music, and to be able to end your song if it was going on forever. No KJ was super okay! The staff here was very attentive to our drink needs. Next time I come here I’m hoping to not have a cold because that makes singing a bit easier. I would recommend coming with a larger group because I imagine it would be a little bit weird with less people. Only complaint – one of the mics didn’t work as well as the other.

All the fun. In a padded room. Seriously, lucky voice is a great night with tuneless friends. Hire a room, compose a play list(you can even do this online prior to arrival), use their recommendations, dress up in the props and order bar service with the push of a button. Oh, and sing your heart out. Even people who think they don’t like karaōke end up loving lucky voice. Being in your own room gives you the privacy to be as silly as you want without worrying about strangers looking on. We had a fantastic two hours singing and dancing away as part of our team Xmas do. A quick intro demo, a few bottles of wine later, an extra ten minutes added by our lovely host, and we were bumbling out the door happier than when we came. The service was great, drinks London priced… Overall a great time. I’d highly recommend lucky voice in islington. It’s along upper street, so plenty of bar/pub options for a tipple or two before showing Mariah Carey how it’s done.

Me and Karaōke normally do not mix. Fueled by 90 minutes of all you can drink Prosecco from a brunch at Pix, several Unilocalers gathered/stumbled along Upper Street to enjoy this Sunday delight… it was the right thing to do. Key worker room discount(free): Thanks Isabelle! Clean, comfy rooms, and as other reviewers state, silly props at hand which simply get more hysterical with every song. The amusement is furthered by happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails. Staff are polite and very efficient. Drink orders were taken and supplied quickly, and any room/sound issues resolved in a speedy fashion. Songs: Goto line 1 above. Hazel N. expertly located a Cure song, and then a Smiths song to get me to join in the fun. After 2 Hendricks Gin and Tonics(again, after extensive Prosecco gobbling) and crooning«Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now«(surely a Karaōke favourite, or possibly only in Camden), did I join in with a fantastic rendition of Tina Turner’s «Private Dancer». It was one of the best rainy Sundays I’d had in a while. «Everyday is Like Sunday», anyone???

The workers here are saints to put up with all the constant drunken people/shenanigans. Rooms are always clean. Fun and private. Decent selection of songs– they’re certainly the go-to karaōke choice for quality and consistancy!

So there was a Unilocal event organised by Tristan J and Ashley, who are key workers, which means — on Sundays and Mondays, you get the room for free, as long as you spend £40 on drinks(includes the £20 deposit). We had an amazingly fun time, the rooms were large, clean and spacey, and filled with jumbo blow-up mics, saxophones, funny hats and tambourines for laughs. The drinks were tasty, and they were on for 2-for-1 before 8pm, so I filled up! Otherwise, cocktails are around £9, and Asahi beer is £4. If you’re hungry, I remember seeing pizzas for £8. The songs can be searched on their touch screen, but no catalogues! I love the planet, and I love trees — but sometimes you just need to flip through a catalogue before you find«that» song. the«ohmygodyouguysssssssssssssss!!!» song that kicks everyone back 10 – 20 years to reminisce on the good old times. The screen just shows the words, and no cheesy budget videos playing in the background. I usually find those vids annoying, but after looking at a screen full of words, I realise that cheesy vids ARE essential! While they do have a good song list, it needs improvement. Couldn’t find a few things. 3 doors down, third eye blind, certain TLC hits to name a few. I can think of a number of other places that have a greater selection. So — 4 stars on the Unilocal event experience(free room, and 2-for-1 drinks). Otherwise, if I had to pay for the room — I would probably go elsewhere, mainly because of the song selection, and my preference to be able to look through a catalogue at the same time.

A great Karaōke place, quite unexpectedly found on Upper street… Apart from the comfy singing cubicles, the rest of the place is very nice, and offers a great food a drink variety.

So there are a few things in life that give me anxiety… One of them is Karaōke. The thought of being forced to sing in front of random strangers, while slightly intoxicated, and completely off pitch terrify me. BUT this place is fantastic! Strong drinks, check! Friendly bar tenders, check! Private rooms so you can contain your potential humiliation, CHECK! This place is nothing but a good time. Go, bring your friends, and enjoy!

Having been a fan of Lucky Voice for years, I finally visited it’s Islington location a few months ago. It’s almost the same cool place and we had a great night out as always. However make sure you make a reservation, otherwise it might be really difficult for you to find a place to sit.

So it turns out that the rooms are not free — only for teachers, doctors, nurses and others like that on Mondays and Sundays. Ah well, everything else still applies!

I’ve been to Lucky Voice twice now, and it’s been a joy on both occasions. Have to give credit to Tristan who has been kind enough to organize the UYE Karaōke! Front of the house seems to be purely a bar area, so no singing takes place out for all the world to see. They have several private rooms, each decked out with lovely, comfy chairs, as well as several props(inflatable instruments for air accompaniment), a tambourine, 2 mics, etc. A minor gripe in that their song selection is somewhat limited. It breaks my angsty American heart to find only one Fiona Apple song(a standard choice for the ladies back home), and really? No Big Country’s «Big Country»? Ah well, still love the place!

As a newcomer to karaōke I was impressed with Lucky Voice Karaōke on Upper Street. Having a small private room eased my nerves and allowed my tuneless drone to develop throughout the night. There was a wide selection of songs to sing plus a dress up box for those who are that way inclined. I was also impressed with the system for ordering drinks to the room. It was a shame that my first Karaōke night was Eamon B’s last but I will return at some stage, many thanks to Tristan J showing me the light.

* Sparkly cow boy hats — check * Inflatable guitars(for those important air guitar moments!!) * Ridiculous pink wig –check * Tambourines in the rooms — check * 50% off in the first two weeks of 2012 — check * 2 for 1 cocktails /Asahi — check(I expect this was because we arrived so early!!) * Fantastic song selection — check * Space for all 12 of my crazy friends — check Oh my goodness! This Lucky voice is fantastic! I had such a giggle singing until my voice disappeared! We hired the huge room, drank faaar too much alcohol and it only cost £17 each. Amaze-y-balls! @Katie — I think I might have to drag you to Karaōke with my slightly mad friends. It always seems to end up in a huge sing-along, so you never have the fear factor of warbling in front of everyone!

This is a pretty decent, well-laid out Karaōke bar, with the bar out at the front and several private karaōke rooms in the back. Probably the most amazing thing about this place though is their ‘book a room for two hours free of charge’ deal on Monday for key workers(thanks Tristan!), which also concides with a laudable 2 for 1 deal on cocktails and draft Asahi. This meant that the cost of two hours of karaōke and two pints of Asahi came to just £4.50 — incredible value. I’m giving it four stars rather than five because the song catalogue is not as good as other places I’ve been to, focussing primarily on out-and-out karaōke classics. There is the odd exception to this — I was surprised to see Bloc Party’s ‘Flux’ on the song list — but generally the more indie and alternative, the much less likely you are to find it here. Overall though, a lot of fun, and excellent value if you can find a key worker to take with you on Monday evenings.

Came to an unofficial Unilocal event here where everything was fairly set up for me already so my review might be a little biased based on ease of awesomeness. The room was big and comfy and clean and disco balled. The drinks weren’t cheap but tasty(well about 7 pounds for a specialty cocktail). We came here on a Sunday for one of their deals. We booked a room with a 40 pound deposit and just had to rack up an equal drinks bill to get that back. No problemo. There’s an easy to reach booze button right next to the door. Going to definitely take advantage of that deal again. Good times.

You will indeed be lucky if you have a voice after an evening at Lucky Voice, for when you fill one of these intimate booths with your finest chorus of friends and strike up the cacophonous orchestra that features a computer screen and a song selection book that would give the OED size envy, you’re in for something special. Asahi halfs for £2 + tambourines + party props — voice = a typical Sunday night as far as I’m concerned!
