Lucas Gardens is a little Victorian Park between Camberwell and Peckham, just behind the Peckham Road. It’s completely enclosed and a good place to while away a sunny day if you’re local to the area and can’t be bothered with the trip to somewhere bigger. I would always choose the Church Gardens behind St. Giles Church as a good place to sit and read, but if you fancy playing games or having a bit more space then this is the better option. There is a small playground for kids and plenty of benches to sit on. The only downside of the park is that it’s a common haunt for the area’s drunks which can be a bit annoying!
